Acoustic energy distribution in space around the pipe outlet

open access: yesArchives of Acoustics, 2014
The class-D power amplifiers which operate in a switched mode have become an attractive alternative of the conventional analog power amplifiers class-A, B and AB in the field of audio applications.

Spatially Modulated Morphotropic Phase Boundaries in a Compressively Strained Multiferroic Thin Film

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The coexisting rhombohedral‐like (R′, MA) and tetragonal‐like (T′, MC) monoclinic phases in compressively strained bismuth ferrite thin films exhibit exceptional piezoelectric and magnetic properties. While previous studies have largely focused on probing the morphotropic phase boundaries (MPBs) comprising ordered R′/T′ twins, their self ...

Oxygen vacancies mediated ferromagnetism with enhanced optical and dielectric properties in Gd3+ and Co2+/Mn2+ co-doped ZnO nanocrystals

open access: yesResults in Physics
Herein, diluted magnetic semiconductor (DMS) nanocrystals (NCs) of GdxTM0.07Zn0.93−xO (TM=Co, Mn) with Gd concentrations of 3 at% and 6 at% and a fixed TM concentration of 7 at% were synthesized using sol-gel technique, and their multifunctional ...

Thermally Engineered Sodium‐Embedded Alumina with Programmable Synaptic Plasticity for Neuromorphic Transistors

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A fully transparent, all‐metal‐oxide neuromorphic transistor using a sodium‐embedded alumina (SEA) electrolyte is demonstrated. By precisely tuning the thermal annealing process, the chemical composition of the SEA layer is controlled, allowing for the deterministic realization of both short‐term and long‐term synaptic plasticity within the same device

Vasoactive intestinal peptide-expressing interneurons modulate the effect of behavioral state on cortical activity

open access: yesFrontiers in Cellular Neuroscience
Animals live in a complex and changing environment with various degrees of behavioral demands. Behavioral states affect the activity of cortical neurons and the dynamics of neuronal populations, however not much is known about the cortical circuitry ...

Intrinsic Photoactive Star ZnPc–Poly(glutamate) Nanoplatforms for Multimodal Glioblastoma Therapy and Brain‐Targeted Delivery

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
An intrinsic photoactive star‐shaped zinc phtalocyanine‐poly(L‐glutamic acid) (ZnPc‐PGA) nanoplatform for multimodal glioblastoma (GBM) therapy and brain‐targeted elivery. A ZnPc‐PGA‐based multifunctional theranostic nanocarrier platform enables image‐guided, multimodal GBM therapy. ZnPc‐PGA nanocarriers support the integration of fluorescence imaging,

Sigma-delta modulation neural networks

open access: yes, 1993
Sigma-delta modulation can be used to model the waveforrn coding process of biological neurons. The discrete-time model can greatly simplify the analysis that are nontrivial with traditional continuous time models formulated with differential equations ...

Efficient Trellis Sigma-Delta Modulation

open access: yes, 2011
In chapter eight, an efficient derivative of the Trellis sigma-delta modulator, called the Efficient Trellis sigma-delta modulator, is introduced. Instead of exploring 2 N solutions in parallel, only M solutions out of the possible 2 N are tracked.

Achieving High ON State Current through Ferroelectric Polarization‐Dependent Interfacial Resistance Switching in Undoped Orthorhombic HfO2 Films

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Ferroelectric tunnel junction devices based on epitaxial undoped ferroelectric HfO2 films demonstrate stable switching endurance of over 106 switching cycles, low write voltages of ±3 V, 16 measured resistance states, and neuromorphic capability.

Hexagonal Sigma-Delta Modulation

open access: yes, 2003
A novel application and generalization of sigma--delta (61) modulation has emerged in three-phase power-electronic converters. A conventional modulator with scalar signals and binary quantizer is generalized to a modulator with vector signals and a
