Synchronization of Sigma Delta Modulators

2012
The paper deals with the synchronization of two chaotic Sigma-Delta Modulators. The synchronization is reached via two modulators: one of the modulators is used to code the input information into a bitstream, while the second demodulator is used to decode the obtained bitstream into the original state of the applied input signal.

Sigma-Delta Modulation

2017
This chapter presents a theoretical overview of analog to digital conversion using Sigma-Delta Modulation (ΣΔM). Its oversampling characteristic and working principles are explained and compared with Nyquist rate converters. Important performance parameters, such as signal to noise ratio (SNR), effective number of bits (ENOB), and oversampling ratio ...

Characteristics of a delta modulator

Proceedings of the IEEE, 1971
Additional results from a previously described computer simulation of an adaptive delta modulator are presented and interpreted, and their relevance to a proposed upper bound on delta-modulator performance is indicated.

Delta-Sigma Modulators

2018
This chapter provides a general overview on the discrete-time ΔΣMs (DTΣΔΣMs) and continuous-time ΔΣMs (CTΔΣMs). An introduction on two different topologies of implementing high-order CTΔΣMs, single-loop and MASH, is presented. The benefits of employing a MASH topology for CT-ΔΣMs are also discussed in this chapter.

Aspects of delta modulation

2012
The first part of this thesis describes the design and construction of a pulse communications system called delta modulation. A simple transistorized coder and decoder was built to convert speech signals into binary pulses, and back again. This system was tested in several ways: the circuit performance was checked electronically, and the quality of ...

Delta-Sigma Modulation

2015
Delta modulation was actively developed for communication purposes in the sixties and seventies. It has also had applications in consumer audio equipment, industrial electronics devices, and precision measurement devices (see Jarman [14]). It consisted in an underlying analog-to-fixed sampling frequency pulse-width-modulation encoding transformation of

Sigma–Delta Modulation

2012
The sigma-delta modulator is a specific algorithm to convert low-bandwidth signals into a digital data stream. In the first section the effects of oversampling are described both for the analog-to-digital converter as well as for the analog-to-digital converter.

delta-lifting and delta-supplemented modules

2007
In this paper, delta-lifting and delta-supplemented modules are defined as generalizations of lifting and supplemented modules. Several properties of these modules are proved. New characterizations of delta-semiperect and delta-perfect rings studied in [9] are obtained using delta-lifting and delta-supplemented modules.
