Atividade lenta posterior: correlação eletro-clínica Posterior EEG slow activity: electro-clinical correlation

open access: yesArquivos de Neuro-Psiquiatria, 1971
Inicialmente é feita breve exposição dos cinco principais tipos de atividade lenta posterior descritas na literatura eletrencefalográfica: variedade lenta do ritmo alfa, ritmo theta posterior, ondas lentas posteriores a 4 hertz, ritmo delta associado ao ...

Glymphatic dysfunction couples with cortical excitation–inhibition imbalance in epilepsy: Evidence from Rasmussen encephalitis

open access: yesEpilepsia, EarlyView.
Cong Fu et al. demonstrate that glymphatic system dysfunction is linked to enhanced inhibitory cortical activity using diffusion MRI and EEG. These findings highlight a mechanistic link between perivascular fluid dynamics and neuronal activity, suggesting a role for glymphatic function in maintaining cortical stability in epilepsy.

BEHAVIOR OF Pectinophora gossypiella (GELECHIIDAE) (PINK BOLLWORM) MALES MONITORED WITH PHEROMONE TRAP IN COTTON

open access: yesActa Biológica Colombiana, 2012
The objective of the present study was to evaluate the behavior of P. gossypiella malescaptured with pheromone-baited traps in cotton field. Three experiments were doneduring the 2001-02 and 2002-03 growing seasons using the Delta Opal cotton cultivar ...

Inherited metabolic epilepsies–established diseases, new approaches

open access: yesEpilepsia Open, EarlyView.
Abstract Inherited metabolic epilepsies (IMEs) represent the inherited metabolic disorders (IMDs) in which epilepsy is a prevailing component, often determining other neurodevelopmental outcomes associated with the disorder. The different metabolic pathways affected by individual IMEs are the basis of their rarity and heterogeneity.

Timing is everything: The effect of early‐life seizures on developing neuronal circuits subserving spatial memory

open access: yesEpilepsia Open, EarlyView.
Abstract Spatial memory, the aspect of memory involving encoding and retrieval of information regarding one's environment and spatial orientation, is a complex biological function incorporating multiple neuronal networks. Hippocampus‐dependent spatial memory is not innate and emerges during development in both humans and rodents.

Artificial intelligence in preclinical epilepsy research: Current state, potential, and challenges

open access: yesEpilepsia Open, EarlyView.
Abstract Preclinical translational epilepsy research uses animal models to better understand the mechanisms underlying epilepsy and its comorbidities, as well as to analyze and develop potential treatments that may mitigate this neurological disorder and its associated conditions. Artificial intelligence (AI) has emerged as a transformative tool across

Detection of interictal epileptiform discharges using multiple bilateral insertions of a newly developed microcatheter‐compatible endovascular electroencephalogram electrode: A clinical feasibility trial

open access: yesEpilepsia Open, EarlyView.
Abstract Objective To assess the feasibility, technical performance, and safety of a novel endovascular electroencephalogram (eEEG) electrode, EP‐01, designed for minimally invasive seizure localization in patients with drug‐resistant epilepsy. Methods This single‐center, prospective, exploratory trial enrolled five patients with drug‐resistant ...
