SNC 80, a delta-opioid agonist, elicits phase advances in hamster circadian activity rhythms
NeuroReport, 2000Non-photic stimuli administered to hamsters during the subjective day can cause phase advances in circadian wheel running activity. It is believed that afferent projections from the intergeniculate leaflet of the thalamus to circadian pacemaker cells within the suprachiasmatic nucleus mediate the phase shifting effects of some non-photic stimuli.

Alpha, delta and theta rhythms in a neural net model. Comparison with MEG data
Journal of Theoretical Biology, 2016The aim of this study is to provide information regarding the comparison of a neural model to MEG measurements. Our study population consisted of 10 epileptic patients and 10 normal subjects. The epileptic patients had high MEG amplitudes characterized with θ (4-7 Hz) or δ (2-3 Hz) rhythms and absence of α-rhythm (8-13 Hz).

[Peculiar and random activity in Macaca: delta rhythm at the vertex].
Electroencephalography and clinical neurophysiology, 1981Despite the fact that waking and sleeping EEG activities are well known in cercopithecinae, a striking random activity was noted in 3 macaque species: M. mulatta, M. fascicularis, M. nemestrina. It occurred in bursts of monophasic slow waves (250-400 msec) at 3/sec (2.5-4/sec, according to the moment and the individual at 50-480 microV amplitude, with ...

[Parasympathetic regulation of cardiac rhythm in delta sleep-inducing peptide deficiency].
Biulleten' eksperimental'noi biologii i meditsiny, 1987The effect of delta-sleep peptide (DSP) deficiency on the parasympathetic regulation of the heart rate was studied on 35 rabbits. It was established that the injection of an-serum (titer-1:2000-1:3000) leads to the attenuation of parasympathetic influences: heart rate increase in freely behaving animals and a decrease in negative chronotropic effect ...

Parkinson’s disease (PD) is the most common degenerative movement disorder and a progressive nervous system disorder. It affects body movement, memory, speaking and daily mental and physical activities, being directly connected to the dopaminergic loss. The EEG signal can be modulated under the effect of neurotransmitters, e.g., using dopamine (L-dopa),

[Effect of the delta-sleep peptide on parasympathetic regulation of the cardiac rhythm].
Biulleten' eksperimental'noi biologii i meditsiny, 1986Effect of delta-sleep peptide (60 nM/kg) on the parasympathetic regulation of cardiac activity has been studied in the experiments on rabbits. It has been established that intravenous administration of this peptide to voluntary-behaving animals results in heart rate reduction by an average of 16%, that can be eliminated by atropine. Delta-sleep peptide

[Sympathetic regulation of heart rhythm under the effect of delta sleep peptide and its deficiency].
Biulleten' eksperimental'noi biologii i meditsiny, 1992In acute experiments on 16 rabbits we've studied effects of delta-sleep peptide and its deficiency on the irritation of the stellate ganglion. It has been revealed, that peptide injection (60 nM/kg) produces lowered positive chronotropic effect and elongated response development during irritation of this ganglion.
