Transient complete heart block following catheter ablation of a left lateral accessory pathway. [PDF]
A 16-year-old female with symptomatic Wolff-Parkinson-White (WPW) syndrome underwent catheter ablation of a left-sided lateral accessory pathway. The accessory pathway was eliminated with the first ablation lesion; however, the patient immediately ...

ALPHA–DELTA TRANSITIONS IN CORTICAL RHYTHMS AS GRAZING BIFURCATIONS
Abstract The Jansen–Rit model of a cortical column in the cerebral cortex is widely used to simulate spontaneous brain activity (electroencephalogram, EEG) and event-related potentials. It couples a pyramidal cell population with two interneuron populations, of which one is fast and excitatory, and the other slow and inhibitory. Our paper studies

Patient‐derived cardiac organoids reveal key features of Duchenne muscular dystrophy cardiomyopathy, including apoptosis, oxidative stress, calcium handling defects, and mechanical remodeling. By integrating organoids into alginate–gelatin bioprinted constructs, disease phenotypes are organized into scalable 3D cardiac tissues displaying extracellular ...

The EEG as an index of neuromodulator balance in memory and mental illness
There is a strong correlation between signature EEG frequency patterns and the relative levels of distinct neuromodulators. These associations become particularly evident during the sleep-wake cycle.

An In Situ Embedded B‐MOF Sponge With Shape‐Memory for All‐in‐One Diabetic Wound Therapy
A smart shape‐memory sponge dressing (P1A3@B‐MOF) is developed for accelerated diabetic wound healing. It achieves pH‐responsive corelease of Zn2+ and salvianolic acid B, synergistically providing antibacterial action, repolarizing macrophages to the M2 phenotype, and promoting angiogenesis.

Dissociation and Brain Rhythms: Pitfalls and Promises
Recently, Vesuna et al. proposed a novel circuit mechanism underlying dissociative states using optogenetics and pharmacology in mice in combination with intracranial recordings and electrical stimulation in an epilepsy patient. Specifically, the authors

The centre of rotation of the shoulder complex and the effect of normalisation [PDF]
Shoulder motions consist of a composite movement of three joints and one pseudo-joint, which together dictate the humerothoracic motion. The purpose of this work was to quantify the location of the centre of rotation (CoR) of the shoulder complex as a ...
