Ga Doping Enables Precision Alloy‐to‐Wire Regulation: Synergistic Enhancement of the Mechanical Properties of CuSn Alloy and the Superconducting Properties of Nb3Sn

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 25, 4 May 2026.
By adjusting Ga's doping in Cu–Sn alloy, an ultra‐high elongation of 100.8% is achieved in first time. Ga forms a stable solid solution structure and a stronger electron exchange with Cu. This enhances strength‐ductility synergistically by tuning SFE to balance twinning and slip.

The effects of scientific uncertainty and values trade‐offs on flow management decisions for an endangered fish

open access: yesEcosphere
Consumptive use of freshwater is of concern in many estuarine ecosystems, and various frameworks have been used to prescribe environmental flows to benefit native species.

Etching‐Expanded Anode: A Method to Improve the Reduction Efficiency of Vacuum Thermal Reduction of Spent Anode to Spent Ternary Cathode

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, Volume 9, Issue 3, May 2026.
Etch‐expanded lithium ion battery anode vacuum carbon thermal reduction lithium ion battery anode flow chart. Vacuum carbon thermal reduction has been widely studied for the recovery of ternary lithium batteries, and there are many choices for the type of carbon to be reduced in this method, such as expensive carbon nanotubes and inexpensive battery ...

Delta Smelt: Life History and Decline of a Once-Abundant Species in the San Francisco Estuary

open access: yesSan Francisco Estuary and Watershed Science, 2016
doi: http://dx.doi.org/10.15447/sfews.2016v14iss2art6This paper reviews what has been learned about Delta Smelt and its status since the publication of The State of Bay-Delta Science, 2008 (Healey et al. 2008). The Delta Smelt is endemic to the upper San

Experimental and Thermodynamic Modeling Study of Phase Equilibria in the FeO–Fe2O3–SnO–SnO2–SiO2 System

open access: yesJournal of the American Ceramic Society, Volume 109, Issue 5, May 2026.
ABSTRACT Experimental investigation and thermodynamic modeling of the phase equilibria in the FeO–Fe2O3–SnO–SnO2–SiO2 system have been undertaken to characterize Sn behavior in iron silicate slags for recycling of waste electrical and electronic materials (WEEE) through black copper process.

Evaluation and Interpretation of Genetic Effective Population Size of Delta Smelt from 2011–2014

open access: yesSan Francisco Estuary and Watershed Science, 2017
https://doi.org/10.15447/sfews.2017v15iss2art5Delta Smelt have collapsed demographically, but little is known about their current genetic status. We used 12 microsatellite loci to evaluate two measures of the effective population size (Ne) of Delta ...

Locating Little Larvae: Environmental DNA Methods Can Detect a Rare Fish Species Under Field Estuarine Conditions

open access: yesEnvironmental DNA
Rare species are difficult to monitor using traditional methods, making them excellent candidates for environmental DNA (eDNA) monitoring. The larval life stages of Delta Smelt (Hypomesus transpacificus) and Longfin Smelt (Spirinchus thaleichthys) are ...

Discovery and Evaluation of Cadmium‐Adapted Daphnia pulex Genotypes in a Region of Historical Mining Reveals Adaptation Protects the Germline From Cadmium‐Induced Mutations

open access: yesMolecular Ecology, Volume 35, Issue 9, May 2026.
ABSTRACT Exposure to chemical pollutants can alter the rate and genome‐wide distribution of germline mutations. However, studies measuring the effects of chemical exposure on mutation rates and spectra have not considered the ecological and evolutionary backgrounds of the studied genotypes, which could influence the rates and patterns of germline ...
