PIV images of flow over a swift shaped wing: Dataset 2 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
This data set is a set of particle imaging velocimetry (PIV) images looking at water flowing around both a delta shaped model wing, and a swift shaped model wing. Information about the wing shapes can be found in a separate information upload.

Bias‐Triggered Conductivity Relaxation (BCR): A Unique Tool to Simultaneously Investigate Thermodynamics, Kinetics, and Electrostatic Effects of Oxygen Reactions in MIEC Thin Films

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This work develops bias‐triggered conductivity relaxation as a novel technique to study oxygen reactions in mixed ionic‐electronic conducting thin films by integrating electrochemical titration and electrical conductivity relaxation to achieve synchronous multi‐parameter characterization, providing simultaneous electronic, ionic, and extraordinarily ...

Fabrication of Fibers With Complex Features Using Thermal Drawing of 3D‐Printed Preforms

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
3D printing enables rapid fabrication of macroscale polymer preforms with complex geometries. Thermal drawing then scales these structures into long fibers while preserving micron‐scale cross‐sectional features. This workflow provides a fast, low‐cost route to functional fibers with tailored geometries and material combinations for catheter, robotic ...

Model Reference Adaptive Control for Wing-Rock Suppression in Delta-Wing Aircraft [PDF]

open access: yesE3S Web of Conferences
Wing rock, a self-excited rolling oscillation occurring at high angles of attack, significantly affects flight stability and maneuverability in highly swept configurations.

Reynolds number effects on flow topology above blunt-edge delta wing VFE-2 configurations [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
This paper discusses further the effects of Reynolds number, angle of attack and leading edge bluntness on the flow topology above delta wing VFE-2 configurations.

Backpropagation Through Soft Body: Investigating Information Processing in Brain–Body Coupling Systems

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
This study explores how information processing is distributed between brains and bodies through a codesign approach. Using the “backpropagation through soft body” framework, brain–body coupling agents are developed and analyzed across several tasks in which output is generated through the agents’ physical dynamics.

The EGF repeat-specific O-GlcNAc-transferase Eogt interacts with notch signaling and pyrimidine metabolism pathways in Drosophila. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2013
The O-GlcNAc transferase Eogt modifies EGF repeats in proteins that transit the secretory pathway, including Dumpy and Notch. In this paper, we show that the Notch ligands Delta and Serrate are also substrates of Eogt, that mutation of a putative UDP ...

Effect of anhedral on a reverse delta wing [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
The effect of anhedral on the vorticity flowfield and aerodynamic loadings of a slender reverse delta wing was studied experimentally. The addition of anhedral always led to a reduced lift and lift-to-drag ratio in comparison with their clean-wing ...

Numerical Modeling of Photothermal Self‐Excited Composite Oscillators

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
We present a numerical framework for simulating photothermal self‐excited oscillations. The driving mechanism is elucidated by highlighting the roles of inertia and overshoot, as well as the phase lag between the thermal moment and the oscillation angle, which together construct the feedback loop between the system state and the environmental stimulus.
