Myoblast cytonemes mediate Wg signaling from the wing imaginal disc and Delta-Notch signaling to the air sac primordium

open access: yeseLife, 2015
The flight muscles, dorsal air sacs, wing blades, and thoracic cuticle of the Drosophila adult function in concert, and their progenitor cells develop together in the wing imaginal disc.

DYE VISUALIZATION OF A YAWED SLENDER DELTA WING

open access: yesJournal of Thermal Engineering, 2015
In the present experimental study, effects of yaw angle, β on the flow structure at high angles of attack, α with 70° sweep angle, Λ were investigated using the dye visualization technique. In the case of zero yaw angle, β a pair of leading edge vortices take place on both sides of cords axis are more or less symmetrical over the delta wing.

Further buffeting tests in a cryogenic wind tunnel [PDF]

open access: yes
Further measurements of buffeting, using wing-root strain gauges, were made in the NASA Langley 0.3 m Cryogenic Wind Tunnel to refine techniques which will be used in larger cryogenic facilities such as the United States National Transonic Facility (NTF)

opXRD: Open Experimental Powder X‐Ray Diffraction Database

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Discovery, EarlyView.
We introduce the Open Experimental Powder X‐ray Diffraction Database, the largest openly accessible collection of experimental powder diffractograms, comprising over 92,000 patterns collected across diverse material classes and experimental setups. Our ongoing effort aims to guide machine learning research toward fully automated analysis of pXRD data ...

Flow structures in end-view plane of slender delta wing

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2017
Present investigation focuses on unsteady flow structures in end-view planes at the trailing edge of delta wing, X/C=1.0, where consequences of vortex bursting and stall phenomena vary according to angles of attack over the range of 25° ≤ α ≤ 35° and yaw

Viscous vortical flow calculations over delta wings [PDF]

open access: yes
Two approaches to calculate turbulent vortical flows over delta wing configurations are illustrated. The first is for a simple delta wing at low speeds using the boundary layer approximation to treat the effects of the secondary separation. The second is

Structure and Spectroscopic Characterisation of Phenanthroline‐Based Iodobismuthate(III) Complexes Utilised for Raw Acoustic Signal Classification

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Discovery, EarlyView.
Memristors based on trimethylsulfonium (phenanthroline)tetraiodobismuthate have been utilised as a nonlinear node in a delayed feedback reservoir. This system allowed an efficient classification of acoustic signals, namely differentiation of vocalisation of the brushtail possum (Trichosurus vulpecula).

Analysis and mitigation of numerical dissipation in inviscid and viscid computation of vortex-dominated flows [PDF]

open access: yes
The conservative unsteady Euler equations for the flow relative motion in the moving frame of reference are used to solve for the steady and unsteady flows around sharp-edged delta wings.

The Interoperability Challenge in DFT Workflows Across Implementations

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Discovery, EarlyView.
Interoperability and cross‐validation remain major challenges in the computational materials science. In this work, we introduce a common input/output standard that enables internal translation across multiple workflow managers—AiiDA, PerQueue, Pipeline Pilot, and SimStack—while producing results in a unified schema.

Smart Bioinspired Material‐Based Actuators: Current Challenges and Prospects

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, Volume 7, Issue 3, March 2025.
This work gathers, in a review style, an extensive and comprehensive literature overview on the development of autonomous actuators based on synthetic materials, bringing together valuable knowledge from several studies. Furthermore, the article identifies the fundamental principles of actuation mechanisms and defines key parameters to address the size
