A Review on Sensor Technologies, Control Approaches, and Emerging Challenges in Soft Robotics
This review provides an introspective of sensors and controllers in soft robotics. Initially describing the current sensing methods, then moving on to the control methods utilized, and finally ending with challenges and future directions in soft robotics focusing on the material innovations, sensor fusion, and embedded intelligence for sensors and ...

Numerical Modeling of Photothermal Self‐Excited Composite Oscillators
We present a numerical framework for simulating photothermal self‐excited oscillations. The driving mechanism is elucidated by highlighting the roles of inertia and overshoot, as well as the phase lag between the thermal moment and the oscillation angle, which together construct the feedback loop between the system state and the environmental stimulus.

Geomorphic Change Detection in an Incised Montane Meadow Stream Channel
Sierran montane meadows are dynamic wetland systems that provide important ecosystem functions and services but have been impacted by extensive land-use and widespread degradation often resulting in stream channel incision.

Machine Learning for Green Solvents: Assessment, Selection and Substitution
Environmental regulations have intensified demand for green solvents, but discovery is limited by Solvent Selection Guides (SSGs) that quantify solvent sustainability. Training a machine learning model on GlaxoSmithKline SSG, a database of sustainability metrics for 10,189 solvents, GreenSolventDB is developed. Integrated with Hansen solubility metrics,

Photonic time crystals (PTCs) are systems in which electromagnetic parameters are modulated periodically in time, producing momentum bandgaps via temporal scattering rather than spatial Bragg processes. This review examines the theoretical frameworks, modeling, and computational tools for time‐varying media, and summarizes experimental demonstrations ...

Use of Multi-Temporal LiDAR-derived DEMs for Landslide Detection in the Klarälven Region, Sweden
Landslides are one of the most widespread, yet difficult to predict, geohazards in the world. Theyrepresent a major threat to society, which is why it is so important to understand and study them.Landslide detection is one of the approaches that help ...
