Design and analysis strategies for robust microbiome ageing research

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The gut microbiome changes with age and associates with age‐related morbidity and mortality, establishing it as a potential biomarker and intervention target for ageing. Realising this potential requires methodological rigour, yet distinguishing biological signals from methodological artefacts remains challenging across cohorts. This review provides an

Optimal Scheduling Model of Load Aggregator on Demand Side Under Demand Response

open access: yesEngineering Reports
The reaction capacity of the demand side would influence the price volatility in the electricity supply and demand scenario in the spot market because of the differences in user involvement in the market.

Review of electric vehicle demand response research

open access: yesDiance yu yibiao
As the number of electric vehicles (EV) continues to grow, large-scale uncontrolled charging of electric vehicles will have a huge impact on the power grid and the transport network.

ABL kinase‐dependent phosphorylation of SH proteins promotes their direct interaction with CRK family SH2 domains

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
CT10 regulator of kinase (CRK) and CRK‐Like (CRKL) are signaling adaptors driving cell adhesion, motility, differentiation, and proliferation. SH2‐domain containing (SH) proteins are enriched in YXXP motifs which when phosphorylated create preferred binding sites for CRK family SH2 domains.

Reconstructing enzyme evolution by protein engineering

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Natural enzyme evolution can be retraced by protein engineering methods such as directed evolution, rational design, and ancestral sequence reconstruction. These approaches reveal how enzymes emerged from ligand‐binding scaffolds, developed varying substrate preferences, formed oligomeric complexes, adapted to environmental changes, and evolved novel ...

Decoding the dynamic extracellular matrix in cancer—3D models and bioscaffolds rewire the rules of tumor progression

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Cancer progression is regulated by the dynamic matrix code of the tumor microenvironment, which influences cellular behavior and disease development. Importantly, matrix remodeling in three‐dimensional cancer models more accurately reflects in vivo conditions compared to conventional two‐dimensional systems.

Estimating Asymmetric Advertising Response: An Application to U.S. Nonalcoholic Beverage Demand

open access: yes
We propose a regime-switching model that allows demand to respond asymmetrically to upward and downward advertising changes. With the introduction of a smooth transition function, the model features smooth rather than abrupt parameter changes between ...

Demand response for residential appliances via Customer Reward Scheme

open access: yes, 2014
This paper proposes a reward based demand response algorithm for residential customers to shave network peaks. Customer survey information is used to calculate various criteria indices reflecting their priority and flexibility.

The role of miR‐335‐5p in the redifferentiation of BRAF p.V600E thyroid cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The BRAF p.V600E mutation promotes thyroid cancer dedifferentiation and radioiodine resistance. Using a network approach, we identified miR‐335‐5p as a key regulator of BRAF‐mutated thyroid tumors. Restoring miR‐335‐5p increased thyroid‐specific gene expression and iodine uptake in cells and organoids.

ENHANCING MICROGRID OPERATION BY INCORPORATING DEMAND RESPONSE USING EVOLUTIONARY OPTIMIZATION ALGORITHMS

open access: yes
With the rise of distributed energy resources, microgrids (MGs) offer a resilient solution for local energy supply and smart management. This thesis proposes an enhanced MG operation strategy by integrating demand response (DR) programs with evolutionary
