Critical street links for demand responsive feeder transit services
Computers & Industrial Engineering, 2013This paper presents a methodology to identify and locate critical links in a grid street network system for feeder transit services. A 'critical' link can be defined as a link that-when eliminated from or appended to an existing network-would cause the largest change in the network connectivity and consequently in the transit performance.

A Simulation Framework for a Real-Time Demand Responsive Public Transit System
2018 21st International Conference on Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITSC), 2018Transit systems have encountered a radical change in the recent past as a result of the digital disruption. Consequently, traditional public transit systems no longer satisfy the diversified demands of passengers and hence, have been complemented by demand responsive transit solutions.

Modeling the Demand for Demand Responsive Transit Service in Shrinking Rural Areas
Transportation Research Record: Journal of the Transportation Research BoardThis article investigates the demand for demand responsive transit (DRT) services in shrinking rural areas, focusing on factors influencing adoption. As rural populations decline and traditional transit options become less viable, DRT offers a flexible and cost-effective alternative.

Demand responsive transit and the integration of D/R systems with traditional transit
Transportation, 1975This paper provides a background of the development of demand-responsive transit in small communities in the U.S.A. It also backgrounds traditional transit in metropolitan areas of the United States and outlines its deficiencies in terms of today's urban sprawl and in terms of today's society in metropolitan areas.
