Understanding the behavioral intention of the rural population to use demand-responsive transport services

open access: yesTransportation Research Interdisciplinary Perspectives, 2023
Global efforts to reduce carbon emissions include endeavors to raise the use of public transport means. In rural areas, this poses a distinctive challenge.

Demand Responsive Transport: A Review of Schemes in England and Wales [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Public Transportation, 2009
Local-authority-administered Demand Responsive Transport (DRT) schemes are increasingly prevalent in England and Wales, partly as a result of the growth in the availability of government funding. However, insufficient research has been undertaken into the nature of these schemes and their performance, making it difficult to predict their future role ...

Integrating demand-responsive services into public transport networks – Results from agent-based simulation of demand-responsive transport scenarios for the city of Aachen

open access: yesJournal of Public Transportation
Enabled by the emergence of new technologies, demand-responsive transport (DRT) offers a flexible alternative to fixed-schedule public transport. In order to improve their public transport networks, cities are attempting to integrate new DRT services ...

Clinical and Biological Features of Response in Resistant Neuroblastoma to 131I‐Metaiodobenzylguanidine Radiotherapy in the Anti‐GD2 Immunotherapy Era

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background 131I‐metaiodobenzylguanidine (131I‐MIBG) radiotherapy is a key treatment for relapsed and refractory (R/R) neuroblastoma (NB). Patients with R/R disease treated in the modern era are increasingly exposed to anti‐GD2 immunotherapy, which exerts selective pressure and may modify both tumor cell state and microenvironment.

Modelling Commuting Activities for the Simulation of Demand Responsive Transport in Rural Areas

open access: yes, 2020
For the provision of efficient and high-quality public transport services in rural areas with a low population density, the introduction of Demand Responsive Transport (DRT) services is reasonable.

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

On-demand public transport - the future of public transport or the emperor’s new clothes?

open access: yes, 2020
At the moment, there is a great interest in new public transport solutions that take advantage of technological advances to better match demand and supply.

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Integrate, Not Compete! On Potential Integration of Demand Responsive Transport Into Public Transport Network

open access: yes2023 IEEE 26th International Conference on Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITSC), 2023
On-demand transport services are often envisioned as stand-alone modes or as a replacement for conventional public transport modes. This leads to a comparison of service efficiencies, or direct competition for passengers between them. The results of this work point to the positive effects of the inclusion of DRT into the public transport network.
