Ancillary service provision by demand side management : a real-time power hardware-in-the-loop co-simulation demonstration [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
The role of demand side management in providing ancillary services to the network is an active topic of research. However, their implementation is limited due to lack of practical demonstrations and tests that can rigorously quantify their ability to ...

Outcomes and Surgical Management of Malignant Rhabdoid Tumor of the Kidney: A Report From the Pediatric Surgical Oncology Research Collaborative

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Purpose Malignant rhabdoid tumor of the kidney (MRTK) is a rare, aggressive tumor seen in young children. The optimal timing of resection for locally advanced tumors is not well‐defined. The purpose of this study is to evaluate modern oncologic outcomes and the impact of surgical timing. Methods A multicenter retrospective review was performed

New real-time demand-side management approach for energy management systems

open access: yesIET Smart Grid, 2019
This study proposes a new demand-side management (DSM) technique, which is characterised by low computational requirements. The proposed technique relies on developing an operational matrix by the device local controller based on the device ...

Intraoperative Collection of Ascitic Fluid With Intra‐ or Postoperative Reinfusion in Ovarian Cancer: Safety and Feasibility of a Roller Pumping Method

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Patients with ovarian cancer often present with massive ascites, leading to significant protein loss during surgical procedures. Although cell‐free concentrated ascites reinfusion therapy (CART) is used in palliative settings to mitigate protein loss, its application in intraoperative settings remains unexplored.

Upacicalcet: A Novel Intravenous Calcimimetic Agent for Patients Undergoing Hemodialysis With Secondary Hyperparathyroidism

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Secondary hyperparathyroidism (SHPT) is a common complication in patients receiving maintenance dialysis, driven by calcium and phosphate metabolism disturbances. Calcimimetics are central to the management of SHPT by enhancing calcium‐sensing receptor sensitivity and reducing parathyroid hormone secretion.

Energy Household Forecast with ANN for Demand Response and Demand Side Management [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
This paper presents a short term load forecasting with artificial neural networks. Despite the great imprevisibility, it is possible to forecast the electricity consumption of a household with some accuracy, similarly to that the electricity utilities ...

Progress on the demand side management in smart grid and optimization approaches

open access: yesInternational Journal of Energy Research, 2020
The integration of demand side management (DSM) with smart grid (SG) can facilitate residents' transfer into smart homes and sustainable cities by reducing the carbon emission. This manuscript reviews the recent works related to the application of DSM in

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.
