Bakgrunn: Antallet personer med demens øker i samfunnet som følge av eldrebølgen. Smerteproblematikk er også vanligere ettersom man blir eldre. Siden demenssykdommen progredierer og selvrapporteringsevnen svekkes, blir det sykepleierens rolle å kartlegge smerter hos denne pasientgruppen. Dette vises å være en utfordrende oppgave.
