Impact of Agitation Power Input on Aspergillus oryzae Metabolism: Application of Multi‐Omics on an Industrial Enzyme Fermentation

open access: yesBiotechnology and Bioengineering, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The agitation power input substantially impacts the oxygen transfer rate in aerobic fermentation processes. Furthermore, in a carbon‐limited process where the substrate feed rate is controlled by the concentration of dissolved oxygen, the power input will consequently govern the feed rate.

Osteocyte-directed bone demineralization along canaliculi [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
The mammalian skeleton stores calcium and phosphate ions in bone matrix. Osteocytes in osteocyte lacunae extend numerous dendrites into canaliculi less than a micron in diameter and which are distributed throughout bone matrix.

Neurovascular coupling in bone regeneration: Mechanisms, advanced biomaterials and challenges

open access: yesBMEMat, EarlyView.
This figure illustrates various material strategies for neurovascularized bone regeneration, including electroactive scaffolds, ion‐loaded materials, drug delivery systems, surface modifications, cells/cell products, growth factors, and peptides. These approaches aim to synergistically promote the regeneration of neural, vascular, and bone tissues ...

Combination of autogenous dentin graft and allograft for horizontal ridge augmentation: A case report

open access: yesClinical Advances in Periodontics, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Autogenous particulate dentin has emerged as one of the promising biocompatible alternatives to traditional bone graft materials in alveolar ridge augmentation. Although its clinical success is documented, comprehensive studies combining histological and radiographic evaluations remain limited. This case report addresses this gap by

Application of Ultrasonic Sensors for Determining the Height of Dynamic Two‐Phase Layers in Tray Columns

open access: yesChemie Ingenieur Technik, EarlyView.
Ultrasonic sensors are evaluated for their applicability in dynamic gas–liquid systems. By comparing sensor data with two independent optical reference methods, their robustness and reliability are demonstrated under varying flow conditions and tray geometries in column systems.

Electrical resistance tomography for process intensification of gas–liquid stirred tanks: A comparison of linear back projection and sensitivity conjugate gradient algorithms

open access: yesThe Canadian Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
Monitoring gas–liquid dynamics using Electrical resistance tomography for process intensification in stirred tanks Abstract Electrical resistance tomography (ERT) is a non‐invasive technique widely applied to the study of multiphase flows, where phases exhibit different electrical properties.

Performance and Impact of Crosslinking Level of Hierarchical Anion-Exchange Membranes on Demineralization of a Complex Food Solution by Electrodialysis

open access: yesMembranes
Promising results were recently reported for hierarchical ion-exchange membranes, fabricated by the UV crosslinking of a thin functional coating on a porous substrate, on model NaCl solution demineralization by electrodialysis (ED).
