Hierarchical Twist: Chirality Across Scales in Cellulose Cholesterics
Hierarchical left‐ and right‐handed chiral nematic structures are observed in a solvent‐free thermotropic cellulose derivative. Free‐standing films show hierarchical twisted structures whose pitches respond differently to uniaxial strain: left‐handed pitches increase, ones decrease.

Conditionnement d'une horloge de haute précision Leroy pour son transport et sa mise en réserve
A constant-pressure clock built by L. Leroy & Co. was mounted in the Observatory of Neuchâtel in 1949 for the transmission of time and was turned off in 1962. The clock is now conserved on site, currently disassembled in six constituents.

This study presents an engineered human interferon‐lambda (hIFN‐λ) as an intranasal prophylactic against respiratory viruses. By combining AI‐guided backbone redesign and glycoengineering, the authors developed a thermostable, protease‐resistant, and scalable variant with improved mucosal penetration.

Comparative Upconversion of Tm, Yb‐Doped YF3, YOF, and Y2O3 Hosts
This study aims to determine which host material—among YF3, YOF, and Y2O3—produces the strongest blue upconversion emission from Tm3+ ions after exciting the Yb3+ ions with an infrared diode laser at 980 nm. Powder of the mixed oxyfluoride phase was used to demonstrate forensic fingerprint detection with blue upconversion light, since it exhibits the ...

Degradation Processes of Al-Zn Welded Joints
Welding of metal materials belongs to non-demountable joints. Current trend especially in an automotive industry is to join materials with a different melting temperature. Most of all, there are dural profiles with ferrite or austenite steel.

Sound absorbing glass: transparent solution for poor acoustics of monumental spaces
Monumental buildings are demolished when they lose their traditional function. These historical monuments can be maintained by repurposing them for modern use, like lectures and musical events. This results in a demand for different acoustic conditions.
