The effect of the edge banding process on the mechanical performance of some of the fastener elements and boards used in manufacturing furniture

open access: yesTurkish Journal of Forestry, 2018
Currently, the edge band that is preferred for producing furniture is a PVC edge band that is either 0.4 or 0.8 mm thick. Such edge bands are used on the doors, body and interior sections, and in the bases of cabinets.

Demountable reinforced concrete slabs using dry connections

open access: yesProceedings of the Institution of Civil Engineers - Structures and Buildings
The results of an experimental investigation of a new dry connection for reinforced concrete slab elements are presented. Seven full-scale slabs were tested; one slab was monolithic and used as a control specimen, while the other six were assembled using top and bottom steel plates joined by steel bolts with high tensile strength.

Modular Molecular Design and Self‐Assembled Nanostructures of Saccharide‑Appended Cyclic Dipeptides for Glycosidase‑Responsive Supramolecular Hydrogels

open access: yesSmall, Volume 22, Issue 39, 13 July 2026.
Saccharide‐appended cyclic dipeptides are designed and developed as building blocks for glycosidase‐responsive supramolecular hydrogels. Their aqueous self‐assembly enables β‐galactosidase‐triggered gel‐to‐sol and neuraminidase‐triggered sol‐to‐gel transition systems, highlighting their potential as glycosidase‐responsive soft materials for biomedical ...
