Flexural Behavior of New Demountable Steel–Concrete Composite Beam with Novel Demountable Connectors

open access: yesBuildings
This study proposes a novel type of demountable steel–concrete composite beam (the slab is connected to the steel beam by T-shaped shear connectors, TCBs) to address the limitations of traditional composite beams, including difficulties in disassembly ...

Structural Performance of Innovative Demountable Shear Connectors for Automated Construction

open access: yesce/papers, Volume 8, Issue 6, Page 430-435, December 2025.
Abstract Steel‐concrete composite structures offer significant potential for the adoption of prefabricated solutions that enhance on‐site assembly efficiency, particularly when demountable connection systems are employed. Such systems facilitate ease of both assembly and eventual disassembly, minimizing or eliminating the need for destructive ...

Fluorescent β‐Sheet‐Based Peptide Hydrogels with Aggregation‐Enhanced Emission Properties

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Organic Chemistry, Volume 28, Issue 34, September 23, 2025.
Fluorescent hydrogels from 1,8‐naphtalimide‐based peptides are designed and characterized; the materials are injectable and present enhanced emission upon β‐sheet formation. Novel fluorescent peptide hydrogels are reported by combining 1,8‐naphthalimide‐derived amino acids with a previously developed peptide‐based controlled drug release matrix ...

Cyclic Response Characteristics of SCC Extended End-Plate Reduced Web Section (RWS) Connections

open access: yesBuildings
This study investigates the cyclic behaviour of demountable steel–concrete composite extended end-plate reduced web section (RWS) connections for the first time, aiming to facilitate post-seismic beam replacement. A validated high-fidelity finite element

Metal Ion–Induced Cross‐Linking in Mucin‐Inspired Peptide Hydrogels

open access: yesJournal of Peptide Science, Volume 31, Issue 11, November 2025.
Short fiber‐forming peptides were modified by histidine substitution and mannose or galactose attachment and combined with different metal ions. Although no generalizable trends were observed, Lys to His substitution at position 25 with galactose in the presence of copper produced a species with highly favorable viscoelastic properties.

Full-Scale Shear Testing of a Reversible Timber–Carbon-Reinforced Concrete Wall System Using Embedded Transport Anchors as Shear Connectors

open access: yesApplied Sciences
This paper presents an experimental investigation of a demountable hybrid timber–carbon-reinforced concrete (CRC) wall system with a reversible mechanical connection detail based on embedded transport anchors, screwed steel angle brackets, and full ...

A novel spine tester TO GO

open access: yesJOR SPINE, Volume 7, Issue 4, December 2024.
Biomechanical testing after spinal animal experiments is often neglected because testing machines for flexibility measurement are large and difficult to transport, and the same specimen can only be used ex vivo for either biomechanics or biology.

Push‐out tests of demountable shear connectors for sustainable composite structures

open access: yesSteel Construction, Volume 17, Issue 4, Page 200-211, November 2024.
Abstract The demountable shear connector is the most important component of sustainable composite structures, as it allows the elements to be reused. The ongoing research and development project – in the cooperation of the Budapest University of Technology and Economics and KÉSZ Group, bim.GROUP Ltd., Hungary – aims to design a new demountable steel ...

Shake‐table tests on steel moment‐resisting frames with detachable yielding zones

open access: yesEarthquake Engineering &Structural Dynamics, Volume 53, Issue 12, Page 3798-3819, 10 October 2024.
Abstract This article presents an experimental campaign based on shake table tests conducted as part of the European research project FUTURE, funded in the framework of the H2020‐INFRAIA SERA program. Three steel moment‐resisting frame structures equipped with replaceable dissipative elements were tested. The experimental mockups were scaled two thirds

Impact of glycan nature on structure and viscoelastic properties of glycopeptide hydrogels

open access: yesJournal of Peptide Science, Volume 30, Issue 8, August 2024.
The effect of glycan decoration was investigated in a self‐assembled peptide hydrogel using circular dichroism spectroscopy, oscillatory shear rheology, dynamic light scattering microrheology, fluorescence‐based nanorheology, and molecular dynamics simulation.
