Step-ended waveguide soliton demultiplexer
SPIE Proceedings, 1996Optical solitons arise as self-trapped transverse spatial profiles in nonlinear planar waveguides or as temporal pulse shapes in fibers. Spatial and temporal solitons have been observed in different experiments, opening the way to realize, thanks to their interesting properties1, all-optical devices2,3. Soliton propagation through nonlinear interfaces,

Enzyme-Based Multiplexer and Demultiplexer
The Journal of Physical Chemistry B, 2010A digital 2-to-1 multiplexer and a 1-to-2 demultiplexer were mimicked by biocatalytic reactions involving concerted operation of several enzymes. Using glucose oxidase (GOx) and laccase (Lac) as the data input signals and variable pH as the addressing signal, ferrocyanide oxidation in the output channel was selectively activated by one from two inputs,

Graphene-based wavelength demultiplexing structure
Journal of the Optical Society of America A, 2020A wavelength demultiplexing (WDM) structure based on graphene nanoribbon resonators is proposed and simulated using the finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) method. Based on a simple structure, the demultiplexing wavelength and transmission characteristics of the WDM can be tuned by adjusting the length of the resonator, the nanoribbon width, or the ...

Structural Efficient Demultiplexer
2019 IEEE 15th International Colloquium on Signal Processing & Its Applications (CSPA), 2019The maximally decimated filter banks have been popularly employed in various applications. The non-maximally decimated filter banks allows the decimation factor being smaller than the number of parallel outputs to support applications requiring oversampling outputs of the filter bank.

Composite superprism demultiplexer
2009 6th IEEE International Conference on Group IV Photonics, 2009A superprism design is proposed whereby simultaneous wavelength separation and diffraction compensation in the slab region considerably shrinks the area required when compared to the preconditioned superprism design. All-parallel, diffraction-limited outputs obviate the focusing optics.

Single holographic element wavelength demultiplexer
Applied Optics, 1981A simple single-element holographic optical demultiplexer for wavelength division multiplexing in optical fiber systems is described. The single holographic element performs all the required functions of collection, separation, and focusing. Experimental results for a device operating in the visible region of the spectrum are described.

In this chapter components for building decision maker circuits are introduced. The reader will be guided through the design of multiplexer components in VHDL using only logical gates (i.e., structural level), and also in a higher level of abstraction using when/else statements (i.e., behavioral level). As a case study the hierarchical design described

A molecular 1 : 2 demultiplexer
Chemical Communications, 2008A dual-channel fluorescent compound runs as a 1 : 2 digital demultiplexer (DEMUX) which can drive a single signal (proton) to two different destinations as a fluorescent photonic response; each fluorescent channel can be activated independently by careful selection of the excitation wavelength.

High performance optical wavelength multiplexer–demultiplexer
Applied Optics, 1990The principle of an optical-wavelength multiplexer/demultiplexer, in which the signals undergo repeated reflections from special filter elements that can be designed for any desired cross-talk ratio, is described. In theory, a cross-talk ratio of 60 dB should be easy to achieve.

Terahertz Optical Asymmetric Demultiplexer (TOAD)
Photonics in Switching, 1993We present a new device capable of demultiplexing Tbit/s pulse trains which uses less than one picojoule switching energy and can be integrated on a chip.
