Noise in Passively Mode-Locked Lasers [PDF]
For the first time, phase fluctuations in the spectral intensity of the pulse train generated by passively mode-locked semiconductor lasers have been measured. The results reveal diffusion-like fluctuations of this phase.

All-Optical OFDM Demultiplexer Based on an Integrated Silicon-on-Insulator Technique
An all-optical orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) demultiplexer based on silicon-on-insulator (SOI) waveguide technology is proposed and experimentally demonstrated. Such an integrated structure performing a discrete Fourier transform (DFT)

Simulation of the analogue interface for remote measurements
This work is aimed at finding possibilities for increasing the accuracy of measurements and interfering analog interfaces for remote measurements using resistive strain gauges by introducing a new structural scheme, which is shown on the Fig. 1. It shows

One of the most common techniques for increasing data bitrate using the telecommunication system is to use dense wavelength division multiplexing (DWDM). However, the implementation of DWDM with more channels requires additional waveguide coupler devices

An Eight-Channel C-Band Demux Based on Multicore Photonic Crystal Fiber
A novel eight-channel demux device based on multicore photonic crystal fiber (PCF) structures that operate in the C-band range (1530–1565 nm) has been demonstrated. The PCF demux design is based on replacing some air-hole areas with lithium niobate

Plasmonic Filter and Demultiplexer Based on Square Ring Resonator
A ring resonator is a basic component of traditional photonic integrated circuits (PIC), which has been, however, found difficult to be applied efficiently in high-compact plasmonic metal-insulator-metal (MIM) systems.

Acoustic waveguide demultiplexer based on Fano resonance: Experiment and simulation
A compact acoustic waveguide demultiplexer configuration is studied via finite-element numerical modeling and audio frequency experiments. The demultiplexer consists of a Y-shaped waveguide with a single input and two outputs.
