Combining antibody conjugates with cytotoxic and immune‐stimulating payloads maximizes anti‐cancer activity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Methods to improve antibody–drug conjugate (ADC) treatment durability in cancer therapy are needed. We utilized ADCs and immune‐stimulating antibody conjugates (ISACs), which are made from two non‐competitive antibodies, to enhance the entry of toxic payloads into cancer cells and deliver immunostimulatory agents into immune cells.

Nanobead-reinforced outmost shell of solid-electrolyte interphase layers for suppressing dendritic growth of lithium metal [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Department of Energy EngineeringDesign of catalyst support for high durability of oxygen electrocatalystPlating-stripping reversibility of lithium metal was improved by reinforcing the solid-electrolyte interphase (SEI) layer by inorganic nanobeads ...

Day/night variations of myeloid and lymphoid cell subsets in the murine inguinal lymph node

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The circadian system is involved in the temporal regulation of the immune system. Our study reveals that two innate immune populations, NKT cells and neutrophils, predominate at the beginning of the day in healthy mice, highlighting how the time of day influences immune responses.

Designing sodium alloys for dendrite‐free sodium‐metal batteries

open access: yesInformation & Functional Materials
Sodium metal, with a high theoretical specific capacity (∼1165 mA h g−1) and a low redox potential (−2.71 V vs. SHE) as well as low cost, becomes an attractive option for high‐energy‐density sodium secondary batteries.

Enzymatic degradation of biopolymers in amorphous and molten states: mechanisms and applications

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This review explains how polymer morphology and thermal state shape enzymatic degradation pathways, comparing amorphous and molten biopolymer structures. By integrating structure–reactivity principles with insights from thermodynamics and enzyme engineering, it highlights mechanisms that enable efficient polymer breakdown.

Dendrite‐free Zn deposition initiated by nanoscale inorganic–organic coating‐modified 3D host for stable Zn‐ion battery

open access: yesSusMat
A 3D nanostructured scaffold as the host for zinc enables effective inhibition of anodic dendrite growth. However, the increased electrode/electrolyte interface area provided by using 3D matrices exacerbates the passivation and localized corrosion of the

Regulation of dendritic filopodial interactions by ZO-1 and implications for dendrite morphogenesis. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2013
Neuronal dendrites dynamically protrude many fine filopodia in the early stages of neuronal development and gradually establish complex structures. The importance of the dendritic filopodia in the formation of axo-dendritic connections is established ...

Tumor‐stromal crosstalk and macrophage enrichment are associated with chemotherapy response in bladder cancer

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Chemoresistance in bladder cancer: Macrophage recruitment associated with CXCL1, CXCL5 and CXCL8 expression is characteristic of Gemcitabine/Cisplatin (Gem/Cis) Non‐Responder tumors (right side) while Responder tumors did not show substantial tumor‐stromal crosstalk (left side). All biological icons are attributed to Bioicons: carcinoma, cancerous‐cell‐
