A function space from a compact metrizable space to a dendrite with the hypo-graph topology

open access: yesOpen Mathematics, 2015
Let X be an infinite compact metrizable space having only a finite number of isolated points and Y be a non-degenerate dendrite with a distinguished end point v.

Controlling dendrite growth in solid-state electrolytes

open access: yes, 2022
S.833-843Solid-state electrolytes (SSEs) are widely considered as an ""enabler"" to inhibit dendrite growth of lithium-metal anodes for high-energy and highly safe next-generation batteries.

Combined Process‐ and Phase‐Field‐Simulation to Predict the Microstructure of Single‐Crystal Ni‐Based Superalloys

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A combined finite element and phase‐field approach predicts the evolution of microstructure during the directional solidification of Ni‐based superalloys. The model reveals how withdrawal rate, temperature gradient, and wall thickness control the dendrite spacing, highlighting the strong effect of surface regions in thin sections where dendrite growth ...

Low‐Angle Grain Boundaries and Re‐Segregation in Single‐Crystalline Ni‐Base Superalloys

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This work demonstrates that Re‐segregation at low‐angle grain boundaries (LAGBs) in Ni‐base superalloys is influenced by misorientation angle. Advanced microscopy and atom probe tomography reveal that higher misorientation angles increases Re‐segregation.

Axodendritic targeting of TAU and MAP2 and microtubule polarization in iPSC-derived versus SH-SY5Y-derived human neurons

open access: yesOpen Life Sciences
Cell polarity is crucial in neurons, characterized by distinct axonal and dendritic structures. Neurons generally have one long axon and multiple shorter dendrites, marked by specific microtubule (MT)-associated proteins, e.g., MAP2 for dendrites and TAU

Dendritations of surfaces

open access: yesErgodic Theory and Dynamical Systems, 2017
In this paper we develop a generalization of foliated manifolds in the context of metric spaces. In particular we study dendritations of surfaces that are defined as maximal atlases of compatible upper semicontinuous local decompositions into dendrites. Applications are given in modeling stable and unstable sets of topological dynamical systems.

Dendrite-free alkali-metal electrodeposition from contact-ion-pair state induced by mixing alkaline earth cation

open access: yes, 2021
Alkali metals, such as lithium and sodium, have been expected to be used for rechargeable metal-anode batteries owing to their low electrode potentials and large capacities.

Productivity‐Driven Optimization of Laser Powder Bed Fusion Parameters for IN718 Superalloy: Process Control, Microstructure, and Mechanical Properties

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates how optimizing laser power, scanning speed, and hatching distance in laser powder bed fusion can boost the productivity of Inconel 718 manufacturing by up to 29% while maintaining mechanical integrity. The work delivers a validated process window and cost–time analysis, offering industry‐ready guidelines for efficient additive ...

Repetitive traumatic brain injury–induced complement C1–related inflammation impairs long-term hippocampal neurogenesis

open access: yesNeural Regeneration Research
Repetitive traumatic brain injury impacts adult neurogenesis in the hippocampal dentate gyrus, leading to long-term cognitive impairment. However, the mechanism underlying this neurogenesis impairment remains unknown. In this study, we established a male
