Efek Perlakuan Panas Terhadap Perubahan Warna Bambu Sembilang (Dendrocalamus giganteus)

open access: yesJurnal Silva Tropika, 2023
ABSTRACT Bamboo can be used as an alternative raw material to replace wood. Bamboo is a fast-growing plant that requires quality improvement. One type of bamboo that has not been utilized optimally is sembilang bamboo. Quality improvement can be done through heat modification.

Isolation and Characterization of Natural Cellulose from Oxytenanthera abyssinica (Lowland Ethiopian Bamboo) Using Alkali Peroxide Bleaching Stages Followed by Aqueous Chlorite in Buffer Solution

open access: yesInternational Journal of Polymer Science, Volume 2022, Issue 1, 2022., 2022
Plants are the primary sources of cellulose. This paper is aimed at isolating cellulose from Oxytenanthera abyssinica via chemical treatments. The thermal behavior, functional group, chemical composition, crystallinity, and morphology of raw (ROA), dewaxed (DOA), alkali‐treated (AOA), and bleached (BOA) fibers were examined.

Elevated efficiency of C3 photosynthesis in bamboo grasses: A possible consequence of enhanced refixation of photorespired CO2

open access: yesGCB Bioenergy, Volume 13, Issue 6, Page 941-954, June 2021., 2021
We investigate whether three bamboo species from the Brazilian Cerrado exhibit unique adaptations that suppress photorespiratory costs and enhance photosynthetic efficiency. The bamboos exhibited the lowest C* value ever reported for a C3 plant, approaching the values reported for C2 plants.

A Review on Bamboo Resource in the African Region: A Call for Special Focus and Action

open access: yesInternational Journal of Forestry Research, Volume 2021, Issue 1, 2021., 2021
The African region has untapped bamboo resource potential with immense socioeconomic, cultural, and ecological significances. Despite the long history of bamboo in the region, its contribution is at the infant stage. Therefore, the present study aimed at reviewing the existing literature supported by research experience on bamboo resource in the region.
