Risk Factors for Mortality in Dengue Shock Syndrome (DSS) [PDF]
Background: Dengue shock syndrome (DSS) is the most severe form of dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) and has a high mortality. There are two major pathological changes in DHF determining the severity of disease, plasma leakage and bleeding.

ABSTRACT Dengue virus (DENV) poses a serious global health challenge, particularly in cases of dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF). Patients with preexisting mitochondrial disorders may be at increased risk for complications due to the specific impact of DENV on mitochondrial‐dependent cellular processes and immune function.

Dengue and Dengue Virus in Florida
This publication provides an overview of dengue fever, focusing on its epidemiological landscape in Florida. Dengue, caused by dengue virus and transmitted through the bites of infected Aedes mosquitoes, is a major global health concern. Florida has experienced local dengue transmissions, and the incidence of dengue is increasing in the state.

An on‐resin dual‐modification strategy for peptides is presented, comprising S‐alkynylation of peptide thiosulfonates and regioselective iridium‐catalyzed azide–thioalkyne cycloaddition. This method reliably provides access to peptides with intricate non‐canonical modifications, being compatible with complex peptides, alkynes and azides.
