Conserved binding mode but diverse interfaces of MreC‐PBP2 interactions
The crystal structure of abMreC reveals a conserved two β‐barrel architecture and provides structural insights into its role within the bacterial elongasome. The abMreC–abPBP2 complex model identifies the molecular basis of MreC‐mediated PBP2 recognition, contributing to the regulation of peptidoglycan synthesis.

To the Editor.— The use of the word "dyspnea" by Thomas A. Raffin, MD, and James Theodore, MD, in their discussion in CLINICAL CARDIOLOGY "Separating Cardiac From Pulmonary Dyspnea" (238:2066, 1977), disturbed me. They carefully defined the word as "an uncomfortable awareness of the act of breathing, leading to a sensation most conveniently described ...

It has often been observed that a point-free styleof programming provides a more abstract view on programs. We aim to use the gain in abstraction to obtain a denotational semantics for functional logic languagesin a straightforward way. Here we propose a set of basic operations based on which arbitrary functional logic programs can be transformed to ...

This is an essay where the author expresses his views on applied denotational semantics. In the author's opinion, whether a software system has or does not have a sufficiently abstract denotational semantics should be regarded as a pragmatic attribute of the system rather than merely as a mathematical attribute of its description.
