The stability criteria affecting the formation of high‐entropy alloys, particularly focusing in supersaturated solid solutions produced by mechanical alloying, are analyzed. Criteria based on Hume–Rothery rules are distinguished from those derived from thermodynamic relations. The formers are generally applicable to mechanically alloyed samples.

Dense plasma focus as a pulsed deuterium-tritium neutron source.
A dense plasma focus of the Mather type has been operated at a capacitor bank energy of 13 kJ with deuterium-tritium gas fillings. An average neutron yield of 1.1 x 10 11 neutrons per pulse was measured.

D-D neutron yield in the 125 J dense plasma focus Nanofocus
We present here a very small transportable dense plasma focus with 125 J of energy able to be used mainly as an intense fast neutron source. The aim of this work was to design, construct and experimentally study a very compact nuclear fusion apparatus ...

This study explored how effective nickel aluminide coatings are obtained in providing oxidation resistance applied to the Inconel 738 alloy, modeling with diffusion models. In the present study, kinetics and thermal behavior of the Inconel 738 alloy were studied by the low‐temperature thermoreactive aluminizing process, which was carried out at 625°C ...

Fusion reaction scaling in a mega - amp dense plasma focus
The dense plasma focus (DPF) is one of the most efficient sources of fusion reactions for a given energy input. For smaller DPFs, fusion output scales as I4 or faster, where I is peak current.

Compact plasma focus devices: Flexible laboratory sources for applications
S.291-298 : Ill., Lit.Small pinch plasma devices are intense sources of pulsed XUV-radiation. Because of their low costs and their compact sizes pinch plasmas seem well suited to supplement research ac- tivities based on synchrotrons.

This study demonstrates an efficient recycling route for out‐of‐spec AlSi10Mg atomized powders through compaction and arc remelting followed by suction casting. By correlating compaction load, cooling rate, and resulting microstructure, we show that intermediate pressures (50–80 kN) and rapid cooling refine dendrites, reduce porosity, and enhance ...
