We design and model a highly compact and tunable optical add-drop multiplexer (OADM) device that consists of long-period gratings and piezoelectric ceramic fiber stretchers. The proposed OADM shows that 50 dense wavelength-division multiplexing channel signals can be selected in the wavelength range from 1526.25 to 1563.75 nm with 0.75-nm channel ...

Multi-Wavelength Laser Source for Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing Networks
OFC/NFOEC 2007 - 2007 Conference on Optical Fiber Communication and the National Fiber Optic Engineers Conference, 2007We propose and demonstrate an ITU-T grid compatible DWDM laser source with 50 GHz channel spacing. It consists of a passively mode-locked laser, supercontinuum-generating photonic crystal fiber and fiber Fabry-Perot filter for spectral selection.

Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexer based on Microring Resonators
2018 IEEE Student Conference on Research and Development (SCOReD), 2018This paper demonstrates a dense wavelength division multiplexer (DWDM) based on microring resonators using ring radius variation method. In this design, the spacing between each channel was kept constant at 0.8nm throughout the S, C and L bands. The reference ring size of the ring resonator was 1um.

Sparsely-Filled Densely-Wavelength-Division-Multiplexed Networks
Photonics in Switching, 1993It has been clear for some time that optical fibre transmission systems have the potential to carry vastly greater amounts of traffic than they are currently used for. For example, in Fig.1, we show typical values for the insertion loss of a 50km fibre section in the 1500nm window and overlay it with an approximate representation of an Erbium Doped ...

A novel architecture for dense wavelength‐division multiplexing/subcarrier multiplexing networks
Microwave and Optical Technology Letters, 2001AbstractWe propose and demonstrate a new survivable dense wavelength‐division multiplexing/subcarrier multiplexing (DWDM/SCM) network based on the star–bus–ring architecture (SBRA). This architecture ensures an OBI‐free optical network, and can serve tremendous subscribers. In addition, remote nodes and bidirectional wavelength add/drop multiplexers (B–

In this paper we describe the performance of the Multiplexer/Demultiplexer (MUX/DEMUX) in the Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexer (DWDM) technology based on arrayed waveguide grating (AWG). The accumulated crosstalk in large-scale AWG solved by the cascade-connection of small AWGs.
