Crosstalk Enhancement in Multiplexer/Demultiplexer Based Arrayed Wavelength Grating in Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing

2006 IEEE International Conference on Semiconductor Electronics, 2006
In this paper we describe the performance of the Multiplexer/Demultiplexer (MUX/DEMUX) in the Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexer (DWDM) technology based on arrayed waveguide grating (AWG). The accumulated crosstalk in large-scale AWG solved by the cascade-connection of small AWGs.

Dense wavelength division multiplexing radio-on-fiber systems

MWP 2003 Proceedings. International Topical Meeting on Microwave Photonics, 2003., 2005
Dense wavelength division multiplexing (DWDM) millimeter-wave radio-on-fiber (ROF) systems are presented, in which we will focus on its multiplexing and demultiplexing techniques and photonic frequency conversions. The 25 GHz-spacing, 60 GHz-band DWDM ROF is experimentally demonstrated.

Effect of stress on performance of dense wavelength division multiplexing filters: optical properties

Applied Optics, 2004
Thin-film filters used for dense wavelength division multiplexing (DWDM) applications are processed by a variety of deposition techniques, including ion-beam sputtering. Ion-beam sputtering produces high-quality coatings and provides flexibility of coating materials.

Sparsely-Filled Densely-Wavelength-Division-Multiplexed Networks

Photonics in Switching, 1993
It has been clear for some time that optical fibre transmission systems have the potential to carry vastly greater amounts of traffic than they are currently used for. For example, in Fig.1, we show typical values for the insertion loss of a 50km fibre section in the 1500nm window and overlay it with an approximate representation of an Erbium Doped ...

A Maxmin Routing Algorithm for Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing Networks

2006 International Conference on Communication Technology, 2006
In this paper, we present an algorithm to solve the routing problem for wavelength division multiplexing networks. We use the discrete maxmin fairness as the routing metric. First we use this algorithm to solve routing problem. After we get paths for all flows in the network, we use another algorithm d-CPG in [1], to assign discrete maxmin rates for ...

Grating spectrograph in InGaAsP/InP for dense wavelength division multiplexing

Applied Physics Letters, 1991
A grating spectrograph in InGaAsP/InP suitable for use in the wavelength region from 1.2 to 1.6 μm is presented. Experiments for devices with a channel spacing of 3.7 nm and more than 30 channels between 1.48 and 1.59 μm are described. The measured cross talk level is below −25 dB. The devices have only very low polarization sensitivity.

Architectural tradeoffs for reconfigurable dense wavelength-division multiplexing systems

IEEE Journal of Selected Topics in Quantum Electronics, 2006
Advances in optical technology now allow practical reconfigurable wavelength networks to be constructed. These networks use wavelength-switching components to dynamically route wavelengths, and provide a level of flexibility and scalability previously not possible.

Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing Networks: Principles and Applications

2009
The very broad bandwidth of low-loss optical transmission in a single-mode fiber and the recent improvements in single-frequency tunable lasers have stimulated significant advances in dense wavelength division multiplexed optical networks. This technology, including wavelength-sensitive optical switching and routing elements and passive optical ...

A frequency stabilization arrangement for dense wavelength division multiplexing systems

IEEE Photonics Technology Letters, 1992
A frequency stabilization scheme using a tunable twin-guide (TTG) laser diode and a Bragg grating filter on a passive waveguide is proposed. This arrangement is fully compatible with the technologies of monolithic integrated optics. The concept was tested in a hybrid assembly.
