The poor marginal adaptation, sub-gingival margin placement and over-contoured crowns can contribute to localized periodontal inflammation. Besides, lack of proper clinical expertise of the restorative dentist can result in the excessively deep subgingival margin placement and inconsistencies in the margins preparation.
