Smart Denture with Embedded Thin‐Film Temperature Sensors Patterned by Femtosecond Laser Pulse for Elderly Healthcare

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, Volume 7, Issue 3, March 2025.
We demonstrate the direct‐laser patterning of a gold thin film on polymethyl methacrylate to fabricate a temperature sensor for dentures. The temperature sensor‐embedded smart dentures are evaluated in an oral environment, enabling in‐situ monitoring for elderly healthcare.

How does the Kids SIPsmartER program impact the sugar‐sweetened beverage intake of students: An investigation beyond total treatment effect in randomized controlled trial

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Agricultural Economics, EarlyView.
Abstract This study develops and empirically estimates a structural framework to decompose the causal pathways of multilevel behavioral interventions targeting adolescent health behaviors. We apply this framework to the Kids SIPsmartER (KSS) program, a 6‐month, school‐based intervention evaluated through a clustered randomized controlled trial in rural

35 Individuals With HUWE1‐Related Neurodevelopmental Disorder and Suggested Clinical Evaluations

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Medical Genetics Part A, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT HUWE1 (HECT, UBA, and WWE Domain Containing E3 Ubiquitin Protein Ligase1, OMIM 300697), located at Xp11.22, encodes a ubiquitin ligase that is highly conserved across species. Genetic variants in HUWE1 described in multiple independent studies cause X‐linked intellectual disability, including in the patients identified by Juberg, Marsidi, and ...

Age estimation of Malawian adults from dental radiographs

open access: yesWest African Journal of Medicine, 2006
Previous studies have shown that with advancing age the size of the dental pulp cavity is reduced as a result of secondary dentine deposit, so that measurements of this reduction can be used as an indicator of age. Age estimation is one of the indicators used in forensic identification and teeth are biological markers for human age estimation. We ...

Raman spectrometry and dental age estimation

open access: yesActa stomatologica Croatica, 2015
Aim: Dental age estimation is one of the main challenges in forensic dentistry since it contributes to the identification of individuals. Age estimation in adults is less accurate and requires population specific references. Raman spectroscopy is a spectroscopic technique used to observe vibrational, rotational, and other low- frequency modes in a ...
