Smart Denture with Embedded Thin‐Film Temperature Sensors Patterned by Femtosecond Laser Pulse for Elderly Healthcare

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, Volume 7, Issue 3, March 2025.
We demonstrate the direct‐laser patterning of a gold thin film on polymethyl methacrylate to fabricate a temperature sensor for dentures. The temperature sensor‐embedded smart dentures are evaluated in an oral environment, enabling in‐situ monitoring for elderly healthcare.

Evaluation of Performance of Cast and Laser-Sintered cr-co Alloys for Dental Applications [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Dental prostheses may be built by additive layer manufacturing, specifically by direct metal laser sintering (DMLS). This innovative process allows a high percentage of unmanned work and the direct fabrication of parts from CAD data.

Enabling Metal‐Based Soft Robotics Through Investment Casting

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
Vacuum investment casting enables manufacturing of compliant soft robotic structures out of AA7075 high‐strength aluminum alloy. Additively manufactured patterns are converted into metal soft robotic structures addressing long lasting challenges like durability and nonlinearity of elastomer‐based soft robotics.

Effect of laser welding on the titanium composite tensile bond strength [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
The aim of this study was to analyze the shear bond strength between commercially pure titanium, with and without laser welding, after airbone-particle abrasion (Al2O3) and 2 indirect composites.

Human Leukocyte Elastase Triggered Nanoparticles for Targeted Antimicrobial Delivery and Oral Microbial Modulation

open access: yesAdvanced NanoBiomed Research, EarlyView.
This study explores enzyme‐responsive nanoparticles for targeted antimicrobial release in inflamed oral environments. Nanoparticles formed by complexing peptides and chlorhexidine respond to human leukocyte elastase and release chlorhexidine selectively. P7 (ECAAPVCE)‐based formulations show optimal properties and stability, with antimicrobial activity

The Intimate Relationship between Cavitation and Fracture

open access: yes, 2019
Nearly three decades ago, the field of mechanics was cautioned of the obscure nature of cavitation processes in soft materials [Gent, A.N., 1990. Cavitation in rubber: a cautionary tale. Rubber Chemistry and Technology, 63(3)].

Inter‐microscope comparability of dental microwear texture data obtained from different optical profilometers: Part I Reproducibility of diet inference using different instruments

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, EarlyView.
Abstract Dental microwear texture analysis (DMTA) has become a well‐established method for dietary inference and reconstruction in both extant and extinct mammals and other tetrapods. As the volume of available data continues to grow, researchers could benefit from combining published data from various studies to perform meta‐analyses.

Evaluation of recasting base metal alloy on marginal fitness of cast crown with two type of finishing lines

open access: yesمجله دانشکده دندانپزشکی اصفهان, 2008
Introduction: Base metals are being increasingly used in casting procedures in dentistry. Since recasting these alloys in laboratory might have negative effects on marginal fitness, it seems necessary to study the effect of recasting procedures more ...

Inter‐ and intraspecific variation in theropod dinosaur dental microwear and its palaeoecological implications

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, EarlyView.
Abstract Differences in skull and tooth morphology, stomach contents, and estimated bite force between medium‐to‐large sized (≥100 kg) predatory theropod dinosaurs have long been suspected to correlate with differences in their diets and dietary guilds (e.g., hypercarnivory, piscivory).
