Dental Impression Materials and Techniques
Dental Clinics of North America, 2017Dental impression making is the process of creating a negative form of the teeth and oral tissues, into which gypsum or other die materials can be processed to create working analogues. Contemporary dentistry generates new information every year and digital dentistry is becoming established and influential.

Study of the potential cytotoxicity of dental impression materials
Toxicology in Vitro, 2003The aim of this study was to assess the cytotoxicity of tow types of impression dental materials: polyethers (Impregum Penta, Permadyne Penta Heavy and Light) and vinyl polysiloxanes (Elite Mono Tray, Medium, Low viscosity and Elite H-D Putty). Their cytotoxic effects were studied by indirect and direct tests.

Visco-elastic properties of dental elastomeric impression materials
Biomaterials, 1986The visco-elastic properties of a number of set elastomeric impression materials were determined using a torsional pendulum apparatus, i.e. the real (G1) and imaginary (G2) parts of the complex shear modulus and the mechanical loss tangent (Tan delta). Comparison with published data on tension and compression set for these materials showed that whilst ...

Tear and rupture of elastomeric dental impression materials
Biomaterials, 1984The curing time dependence of the tear energy, tensile strength and ultimate extension ratio of a range of characterized elastomeric impression materials was investigated. This variation of tensile strength and ultimate extension ratio was correlated with the development of the network structure.

Reactions to dental impression materials
Contact Dermatitis, 1975In the department of prosthetic dentistry at Groningen, during the past four years, approximately 2,000 persons have been treated with Scutan, an epimine plastic for temporary crowns and bridges and Impregum, a polyether impression material. A total of ten patients complained of untoward reactions. Patch tests with the basic materials were performed on

Journal of Veterinary Dentistry, 2013
It is clear that many impression materials are available to the veterinary dentist. They each have different inherent properties, handling characteristics, and indications for use. A thorough understanding of these concepts is essential if the veterinarian and laboratory technician are to produce meaningful and accurate reproductions of oral structures.

Dental Impression Materials: Reactor Response
Advances in Dental Research, 1988A review of the literature reveals an abundance of research papers which are focused on the physical properties and "simulated" clinical performance of impression materials. The three major developments during the past two decades were: (1) the introduction of the dimensionally stable addition silicones, (2) the development of dustless alginates, and (

Dental-Impression Material in Nasal Cavity
Practica Oto-Rhino-Laryngologica, 2011We report a case of dental-impression silicone in the right nasal cavity. A 68-year-old man seen for a stuffy right nostril had undergone dental implantation 8 months earlier. Computed tomography (CT) showed an abnormal shadow in the right maxillary sinus and a radiopaque mass in the right mid meatus.
