CRP Deficiency Rescues Periodontitis‐Induced Hippocampal Neurogenesis Impairment by Suppressing OPC‐Derived BMP4 Signaling in Rats

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Chronic periodontitis elevates circulating CRP, which enters the hippocampus to upregulate BMP4 in oligodendrocyte precursor cells (OPCs), thereby impairing neurogenesis and inducing anxiety/depression‐like behaviors in rats. Counteracting this pathway, CRP deficiency helps confer functional resilience to OPCs.

Clinical Trial Data on the Mechanical Removal of 14-Day-Old Dental Plaque Using Accelerated Micro-Droplets of Air and Water (Airfloss)

open access: yesData, 2023
Novel strategies to combat dental biofilms aim at reducing biofilm stability with the ultimate goal of facilitating mechanical cleaning. To test the stability of dental biofilms, they need to be subjected to a defined mechanical stress. Here, we employed

Combined chlorhexidine-sodiumfluoride mouthrinse for orthodontic patients: clinical and microbiological study [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Background: Orthodontic appliances impede good dental plaque control by brushing. Antimicrobial mouth rinses were suggested to improve this performance. We therefore aimed to investigate the effects of combined mouthrinse containing chlorhexidine (CHX)

Mechanical Overloading‐Induced Nanomineral Crystal Perturbation from the Osteochondral Interface: A Potential Initiator of Osteoarthritis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Laser‐induced graphene (LIG) provides a scalable, laser‐direct‐written route to porous graphene architecture with tunable chemistry and defect density. Through heterojunction engineering, catalytic functionalization, and intrinsic self‐heating, LIG achieves highly sensitive and selective detection of NOX, NH3, H2, and humidity, supporting next ...
