Translucency of Dental Porcelains [PDF]
The translucency of comparable shades of five dental porcelains was determined. Both direct transmittance and total transmittance were measured at wavelengths of 400 - 700 nm. For 1 mm of porcelain, the values for direct transmittance were low and averaged 0.13 percent, whereas the values for total transmittance averaged 26.8 percent.

Influence of repeated porcelain firing cycles on the microstructure, marginal and internal fit of implant-cemented Co-Cr frameworks. [PDF]
Abstract This study investigated the effect of porcelain firing cycles and fabrication techniques on the microstructure, marginal, and internal fit of implant‐cemented cobalt‐chromium alloys (Co‐Cr) frameworks. Two groups of Co‐Cr specimens were prepared: one using selective laser melting (SLM) and the other through the lost wax‐casting technique (C ...

Sintering of Dental Porcelain Enamels [PDF]
This study showed the effects of sintering temperature and atmospheric pressure on the density, tensile strength, and microstructure of porcelain enamels. Although the densities of the opaque porcelains were higher, they were weaker than the gingival porcelains.
