The Effect of Cavity Preparation on Substance P Expression in Human Dental Pulp

Journal of Endodontics, 2005
Substance P (SP) plays an important role during neurogenic inflammation of dental pulp. The purpose of this study was to use a radioimmunoassay for determining the effect of cavity preparation on SP expression in healthy human dental pulp. Ten pulp samples were obtained from healthy premolars where extraction was indicated for orthodontic reasons. Deep

Nanofibrous spongy microspheres for the delivery of hypoxia-primed human dental pulp stem cells to regenerate vascularized dental pulp

open access: yesActa Biomaterialia, 2016
Dental pulp infection and necrosis are widespread diseases. Conventional endodontic treatments result in a devitalized and weakened tooth. In this work, we synthesized novel star-shaped polymer to self-assemble into unique nanofibrous spongy microspheres

Three‐Dimensional Tooth Models with Pulp Cavity Enhance Dental Anatomy Education

Anatomical Sciences Education, 2021
Dental anatomy is an integrated, core fundamental dental course, which prepares students for all future clinical dental courses. This study aimed to build up an online dental learning platform of micro‐computed tomography‐based three‐dimensional (3D) tooth models with pulp cavity, and to further evaluate its effectiveness for dental anatomy education ...

Repair in the human dental pulp following cavity preparation

Archives of Oral Biology, 1970
Abstract The reactions following cavity preparation with a Borden air turbine handpiece were studied in ninety-three caries-free young premolar teeth. Immediate damage to the dental pulp was greater in air-cooled than water-cooled specimens and this greater degree of injury was evident up to 15 days post-operatively.

A method of measuring the volume of human dental pulp cavities

International Endodontic Journal, 1986
Summary. A method of measuring the volume of the human dental pulp cavity is described. The crown of an extracted tooth is divided from its root. After cleaning the pulp cavity, it is filled with an elastomer, and the fractured tooth surfaces repositioned before the elastomer sets. The tooth is corroded in acid to release the elastomer which is then ...
