STAT6 Activation Exacerbates Ferroptosis in Airway Epithelium by Inhibiting PRKN‐Mediated Mitophagy in Pulmonary Fibrosis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study uncovers STAT6‐driven pulmonary fibrosis (PF) via suppression of PRKN‐mediated airway epithelial mitophagy, triggering mitochondrial dysfunction and ferroptosis. Rifabutin is identified as a potent STAT6 inhibitor that effectively reverses fibrotic progression. These findings reveal the STAT6‐PRKN axis as a pathogenic regulator and provide a

Essential lipid autacoids rewire mitochondrial energy efficiency in metabolic dysfunction‐associated fatty liver disease

open access: yesHepatology, EarlyView., 2022
Increased liver content of DHA‐derived small lipid autacoids (i.e resolvin D1 and maresin 1) associates with enhanced mitochondrial oxidative phosphorylation, fatty acid β‐oxidation and bioenergetic metabolic flux. These features provide hepatic protection from steatotic, pro‐inflammatory and fibrogenic insults.

Different Methods to Salvage the Fractured Abutment Screws and Potential Reasons of Abutment Screw Loosening: A Narrative Review

open access: yesJournal of Pharmacy and Bioallied Sciences
Dental implant restoration is a popular therapy for replacing lost teeth and regaining human masticatory function. However, studies have shown prosthetic problems like implant fracture, screw loosening, and screw fracture. Abutment screw loosening is the

Nephronectin (NPNT) is a Crucial Determinant of Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis: Modulating Cellular Senescence via the ITGA3/YAP1 Signaling Axis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Through a comprehensive multi‐omics analysis, this study identifies a marked reduction in Nephronectin (NPNT) expression within fibrotic lung tissue. This reduction impairs the binding capability to the ITGA3 receptor, consequently causing YAP1 to persist in the cytoplasm, where it undergoes degradation.

Visualization of interfacial adhesive defects at dental restorations with spectral domain and polarization sensitive optical coherence tomography

open access: yesCurrent Directions in Biomedical Engineering, 2018
Restoration loss based on interfacial adhesive defects and associated caries at the restoration margin are the main causes for invasive replacement of dental restorations.

Mechanical Stress Induced NOX2 Promotes Endothelial Dysfunction in Ventilator‐Induced Lung Injury: Potential Treatment with Quercetin

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 12, Issue 28, July 24, 2025.
Abnormal mechanical stretch induced by mechanical ventilation (MV) disrupts endothelial junctions via the NOX2/ROS/CaMKII/ERK1/2 axis both in human aortic endothelial cells (HAECs) in vitro and in ventilator‐induced lung injury (VILI) in mice. Quercetin, an antioxidant predicted to bind to NOX2, can effectively prevent mechanical stretch‐induced ...

Macrophage‐Mediated Transport of Insoluble Indirubin Induces Hepatic Injury During Intestinal Inflammation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Plant‐derived bioactive molecules with low solubility and permeability induce hepatocyte injury, though the mechanisms driving their hepatic effects remain poorly understood. This study identifies a novel transport pathway in which poorly soluble indirubin accumulates in the liver via macrophage‐mediated uptake in Peyer's patches, exacerbating hepatic ...
