Additive manufacturing of magnesium alloys by laser is difficult because the melting point of the oxide layer is much higher than the evaporation temperature of the metal underneath. Making the oxide layer thinner can solve this problem. Alloying magnesium with strontium makes the oxide layer thinner, especially at 0.5 wt%.

Powder Metallurgy Preparation of Metastable β Ti–Cr–Ge Alloys for Medical Applications
This study develops metastable β Ti–Cr–Ge alloys using powder metallurgy for biomedical implants. The Ti–10Cr–2Ge alloy exhibits superior mechanical performance with high yield strength (>1100 MPa), low Young's modulus (<85 GPa), and excellent strain hardening behavior.

Visits were made to 26 selected general dental practices in Greater Manchester, UK to record the preventive technologies used on 106 patients below the age of 18 years. In addition, the patterns of treatment of 72 general dental practitioners in three contrasting areas in England were recorded, 11 of whom used preventive dental units.
