A new rhynchocephalian from the late jurassic of Germany with a dentition that is unique amongst tetrapods. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Rhynchocephalians, the sister group of squamates (lizards and snakes), are only represented by the single genus Sphenodon today. This taxon is often considered to represent a very conservative lineage.

Hominin palaeoecology in Late Pliocene Malawi : first insights from isotopes (13C, 18O) in mammal teeth [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Carbon-13 and oxygen-18 abundances were measured in large mammal skeletal remains (tooth enamel, dentine and bone) from the Chiwondo Beds in Malawi, which were dated by biostratigraphic correlation to ca. 2.5 million years ago.

Dentin degradomics in dentin erosion

open access: yesSTOMATOLOGY EDU JOURNAL, 2022
Background Dentin degradomics are the enzymes found in dentin endogenously and are aimed at attacking organic compounds of the relevant tissue. During dentin demineralization, these enzymes could turn into the reaction phase and may step up the degradation. Thus, their connection with dentin erosion and tissue loss should be explained.

Infra-red and Raman Spectroscopic Studies of Infected and Affected Dentine [PDF]

open access: yesIranian Journal of Chemistry & Chemical Engineering, 2002
Diagnosis of infected and affected dentine is an important factor in clininal restorative treatment of dentine. In this study, the IR and Raman spectra of the sound dentine, infected dentine and affected dentine are reported.

Pure phase-encoded MRI and classification of solids [PDF]

open access: yes, 1995
Here, the authors combine a pure phase-encoded magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) method with a new tissue-classification technique to make geometric models of a human tooth.

Bio-modification approach for novel dentine caries management by Galla chinesis extract and microbial transglutaminase

open access: yesDental Hypotheses, 2012
Introduction: Dental caries still remains one of the most prevalent diseases worldwide. Unlike enamel caries which can be restored mainly by modulating mineral balance, the dentine caries are characterized with irreversible proteolytic disintegration of ...

Bioactive-glass in Endodontic Therapy and Associated Microsurgery [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Bioactive-glass (B-G) has become a valuable adjunct to promote hard-tissue healing in many clinical situations and is of particular interest for endodontic care because of its biocompatibility, regenerative and antimicrobial properties as well as ...

Hereditary dentine disorders: dentinogenesis imperfecta and dentine dysplasia [PDF]

open access: yesOrphanet Journal of Rare Diseases, 2008
Abstract The hereditary dentine disorders, dentinogenesis imperfecta (DGI) and dentine dysplasia (DD), comprise a group of autosomal dominant genetic conditions characterised by abnormal dentine structure affecting either the primary or both the primary and secondary dentitions. DGI is reported to have an incidence of 1 in 6,000 to 1 in 8,000,
