Resin-bonded fixed partial dentures: A recall study
The Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry, 1991A clinical recall program was initiated at the University of Minnesota to evaluate the longevity and factors affecting longevity of resin-bonded fixed partial dentures (FPDs). Of the 49 resin-bonded FPDs evaluated in the clinic, 43 were acid-etched metal, resin-bonded FPDs, four were combinations of resin-bonded and conventional FPDs, and two were ...

A stress-relieved resin-bonded fixed partial denture
The Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry, 1989Reports of bonding failures with resin-bonded fixed partial dentures (commonly called the "Maryland Bridge") are common. Failures are due to individual tooth mobility as much as they are to bonding inadequacy. The incorporation of stress relievers in the design of resin-bonded fixed partial dentures has created a dramatic reversal in bonding failures.

Resin-bonded fixed partial dentures: Ten-year follow-up
The Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry, 2006The aim of the study was to evaluate the survival rate of resin-bonded fixed partial dentures delivered between 1993 and 2003 in the Department of Prosthodontics of the University of Turin and in several private practices. The analysis took into consideration the following variables: preparations, metallic alloys, metal preparation and conditioning of ...

Resin-bonded fixed partial dentures: a controlled clinical trial
Journal of Dentistry, 1988Abstract This study evaluates the influence of a number of variables on the retention of resinbonded fixed partial dentures (RB-FPDs) under controlled clinical conditions. A total of 203 RB-FPDs were inserted in 183 patients under standardized clinical conditions.

Clinical performance of resin-bonded fixed partial dentures
The Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry, 1996Resin-bonded fixed partial dentures (RBFPDs) initially recorded poor survival rates because of indefinite tooth preparations and arbitrary selection of composite resin cements. In this study, 46 RBFPDs were inserted for a longitudinal study up to 45 months. The influence of location--anterior/posterior, or maxilla/mandible--and the inclusion of pontics

[Resin-bonded fixed partial dentures].
Nederlands tijdschrift voor tandheelkunde, 2013A resin-bonded fixed partial denture is a prosthetic construction which can replace I or several teeth in an occlusal system and which comprises a pontic element which is adhesively attached to 1 or more abutment teeth. To compensate for the limited shear strength of the adhesive layer, the Jixed partial denture is occlusally supported by the abutment ...

Fracture characteristics of anterior resin-bonded zirconia-fixed partial dentures
Clinical Oral Investigations, 2009Resin-bonded fixed partial dentures (RBFPD) are used as a minimal invasive, tooth-preventing alternative for replacing anterior teeth. Zirconia cantilever restorations were supposed to show sufficient strength for a clinical application. The aim of this investigation was to determine the fracture characteristics of cantilever and two-retainer RBFPD ...

A four-year clinical evaluation of resin-bonded fixed partial dentures
The Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry, 1988A total of 58 resin-bonded fixed partial dentures seated in 47 patients were examined for periods of 2 to 51 months. During the evaluation period, 10 prostheses (17.2%) became dislodged. Six restorations (10.3%) were successfully rebonded and four (6.9%) were remade. Six anterior and four posterior restorations were dislodged.

Clinical evaluation of cast metal resin-bonded anterior fixed partial dentures
The Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry, 1984R esin-bonded fixed partial dentures offer the following significant advantages to the dentist and the patient in properly selected clinical situations: (1) tooth preparation is reduced to a minimum, (2) the procedure is reversible, (3) soft tissue management is simplified, (4) there is less problem with color matching, (5) temporary crowns are not ...
