Pin-retained, resin-bonded fixed partial dentures
The Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry, 1991This article describes a technique to enhance resistance form in the construction of anterior resin-bonded fixed partial dentures. The technique is simple and conserves tooth structure. It uses a cingulum pin when an opposing axial groove cannot be adequately incorporated into the preparation.

Failures are due to individual tooth mobility as much as they are to bonding inadequacy. The incorporation of stress relievers in the design of resin-bonded fixed partial dentures has created a dramatic reversal in bonding failures.

A four-year clinical evaluation of resin-bonded fixed partial dentures
The Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry, 1988A total of 58 resin-bonded fixed partial dentures seated in 47 patients were examined for periods of 2 to 51 months. During the evaluation period, 10 prostheses (17.2%) became dislodged. Six restorations (10.3%) were successfully rebonded and four (6.9%) were remade. Six anterior and four posterior restorations were dislodged.
