Organic or metal bases for dentures
The Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry, 1967Abstract Research findings indicate that all denture resins exhibit dimensional changes during processing. Such warpage is likely to be damaging to the tissues that support removable dentures. Therefore, the scientific method requires the use of discrimination when organic (acrylic) resin complete denture bases are used.

Adhesive bonding of denture base resins to plastic denture teeth
Journal of Biomedical Materials Research, 1990AbstractThe adhesive bonding of denture teeth to denture base resins in dentures with conventional acrylic teeth and crosslinked plastic teeth was investigated. The dentures with highly crosslinked plastic teeth such as SR‐Orthosit, Crystal ND, and Mitel‐OM showed poor bonding at the tooth/base resin interface using the conventional bonding method ...

The Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry, 1968
Abstract Accurately fitted baseplates are necessary for establishing the correct jaw relations and esthetics for edentulous patients. The correctness of jaw relations, esthetics, and fit can be tested by means of baseplates made from a combination of a hard cold-curing acrylic resin and a soft-curing acrylic resin in undercut areas.

A reliable method for securing anterior denture teeth in denture bases
The Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry, 2003Bond failures continue to occur between resin denture teeth and the denture base. This qualitative study examined a denture tooth modification to determine whether the joint produced between the denture tooth and the denture base resin was stronger than the materials from which it was composed.Modified and unmodified resin denture teeth were processed ...

The nature of a denture base: A key factor in denture sore mouth
The Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry, 1973Abstract Sections of both the polished and the impression basal surfaces of polymethyl methacrylate, vulcanite, and cast-gold denture base materials were examined and photographed using scanning electron microscopy. An attempt was made to draw attention to some of the key factors related to the tissue tolerance to these materials.
