Design and Numerical-Method-Aided Optimization of a Novel Attachment System for Implant-Retained Dental Prostheses Using NiTi Shape Memory Alloys

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2022
While nickel-titanium (NiTi) is the primary shape memory alloy (SMA) used in endodontic instruments, restorative dental components so far have not been fabricated from SMAs.

Precision ball attachment retained overdenture – A unique treatment option for edentulous – A case report

open access: yesUniversity Journal of Dental Sciences, 2021
The overdenture treatment provides a conservative option for rehabilitation of patients with a few key teeth remaining. Retained abutments dramatically increase the overall retention and stability of the denture.

Evaluation of stress distribution characteristics on various bar designs of three-implant-supported mandibular overdentures

open access: yesActa Odontologica Turcica, 2017
Objective: Implant-supported-overdentures, instead of conventional complete dentures, are frequently recommended to rehabilitate patients having edentulous mandible.

Prosthodontic Rehabilitation of Missing Dentition Using Multi Unit Precision Attachment Hybrid Overdentures–Clinical Report of Two Patients

open access: yesOnline Journal of Dentistry & Oral Health, 2020
Prosthodontic rehabilitation of a patient with terminal dentition is very challenging. Any conservative treatment that can delay or eliminate future prosthodontic problems should be considered.

Smart Denture with Embedded Thin‐Film Temperature Sensors Patterned by Femtosecond Laser Pulse for Elderly Healthcare

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, Volume 7, Issue 3, March 2025.
We demonstrate the direct‐laser patterning of a gold thin film on polymethyl methacrylate to fabricate a temperature sensor for dentures. The temperature sensor‐embedded smart dentures are evaluated in an oral environment, enabling in‐situ monitoring for elderly healthcare.

Do Prices Matter for Healthcare Accessibility? Evidence From a Means‐Tested Complementary Health Insurance in France

open access: yesHealth Economics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT In France, the Couverture Maladie Universelle Complémentaire (CMU‐C) scheme is a means‐tested, state‐financed, complementary health insurance program that fully covers healthcare. Using administrative claims data and a staggered difference‐in‐differences approach, we estimate the impact of enrollment in the program on healthcare utilization ...

Nonrigid semi-precision connectors for FPD

open access: yesDentistry and Medical Research, 2014
In the practice of fixed prosthodontics, certain situations like pier abutments, tilted abutments pose problems with rigid connectors. If rigid connectors are used in this situation, the pier abutment will act as a fulcrum because of physiologic tooth ...

Comparative efficacy of novel bioactive glass versus sodium fluoride toothpaste for dentin hypersensitivity

open access: yesJournal of Periodontology, EarlyView.
Abstract Background This first‐in‐human clinical study aimed to evaluate the safety and efficacy of a bioglass incorporated in a toothpaste, in reducing dentin hypersensitivity (DH) compared to a sodium fluoride (NaF) toothpaste over a 2‐week period. Methods A double‐blind, randomized, parallel‐arm, proof‐of‐concept clinical trial was conducted with 46
