Early insights of dengue virus serotype 3 (DENV-3) re-emergence in São Paulo, Brazil

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Virology
In dengue hyperendemic regions, the evolution of the virus is marked by frequent virus introduction/reintroduction and clade replacement events, occasionally linked to an epidemic outbreak. From 2023 onwards, an increase in the detection of DENV-3 cases has been reported in different regions of Brazil.

Comparative analysis of full genomic sequences among different genotypes of dengue virus type 3

open access: yesVirology Journal, 2008
Background Although the previous study demonstrated the envelope protein of dengue viruses is under purifying selection pressure, little is known about the genetic differences of full-length viral genomes of DENV-3.

DENGUE OUTBREAK IN MATO GROSSO STATE, MIDWESTERN BRAZIL

open access: yesRevista do Instituto de Medicina Tropical de São Paulo, 2015
Dengue virus (DENV) is the most frequent arbovirus worldwide. In this study, we report a large outbreak in Mato Grosso State (MT). Serum samples from 604 patients with acute febrile illness for less than five days were inoculated in C6/36 cells, then ...

Phylogenetic analysis revealed the co-circulation of four dengue virus serotypes in Southern Thailand.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2019
Dengue fever is caused by dengue viruses (DENV) from the Flavivirus genus and is the most prevalent arboviral disease. DENV exists in four immunogenically distinct and genetically-related serotypes (DENV-1 to 4), each subdivided in genotypes. Despite the

Development and characterization of a reverse genetic system for studying dengue virus serotype 3 strain variation and neutralization.

open access: yesPLoS Neglected Tropical Diseases, 2012
Dengue viruses (DENV) are enveloped single-stranded positive-sense RNA viruses transmitted by Aedes spp. mosquitoes. There are four genetically distinct serotypes designated DENV-1 through DENV-4, each further subdivided into distinct genotypes.

Penentuan Serotipe Virus Dengue dan Gambaran Manifestasi Klinis serta Hematologi Rutin pada Infeksi Virus Dengue

open access: yesMajalah Kedokteran Bandung, 2012
All DENV serotypes can cause a spectrum of disease from dengue fever (DF) to dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) and dengue shock syndrome (DSS). It is difficult to differentiate clinical characteristicand hematologic result for each serotype.

Detection of dengue virus serotype 2 in aedes aegypti in Quintana Roo, Mexico, 2011 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
. In October 2011, the State Health Department announced that several laboratory-confirmed cases of dengue had occurred among residents in two neighborhoods of Benito Juarez, Quintana Roo State, Mexico. To identify the dengue virus serotype(s) temporally

Sylvatic dengue virus type 4 in Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus mosquitoes in an urban setting in Peninsular Malaysia.

open access: yesPLoS Neglected Tropical Diseases, 2019
Dengue fever is endemic in Malaysia, contributing to significant economic and health burden in the country. Aedes aegypti and Ae. albopictus are the main vectors of the dengue virus (DENV), which circulates in sylvatic and human transmission cycles and ...
