The Research on the Deoxidization Process of Calcium Based Deoxidizer

Advanced Materials Research, 2013
According to the compositional design of the calcium deoxidizer and the actual practice of producing HRB335 via converter—in BOF end, the percentages of [C] is 0.032%,the concentration of a[O] is 980ppm, the addition of calcium deoxidizer is 1.36Kg per ton of steel, and the argon oxygen activity is 42.84 ppm.

Deoxidation and subsequent densification of sintered titanium by Ca deoxidizer

Metals and Materials International, 2016
In this study, a sintering process involving simultaneous deoxidation and sintering was developed, using the vapor of a deoxidizer (Ca) to produce low-oxygen, high-density titanium. Compared to a series of reference titanium powder samples, the bodies sintered with Ca exposure had an ∼1,400 ppm lower oxygen content, resulting in an ∼2% increase in ...

A Primer on deoxidation

JOM, 1959
What is it? Why do you do it? How do you do it? These questions and many more are here answered, in language any steelmaker can understand, by the author of “The Nonmetallic Constituents of Steel,” this year’s Howe Memorial Lecture.

Optimization of Intensified Silicon Deoxidation

steel research international, 2012
AbstractFor demanding wire applications steel cleanliness should be very high and the inclusions inevitably found in steel should be harmless. This means strict control of inclusions' size, quantity, and composition, pursuing deformable inclusions in rolling conditions. Primary inclusions are formed during steel treatment in the ladle.

Deoxidation of Titanium Using Mg as Deoxidant in MgCl2-YCl3 Flux

Metallurgical and Materials Transactions B, 2019
To reduce the oxygen level in titanium (Ti) to less than 1000 mass ppm O, using magnesium as the deoxidant at 1300 K (1027 °C), the activity of the deoxidation product (MgO), i.e., aMgO, in the system must be reduced to less than 0.04, from a thermodynamic viewpoint.

Deoxidizing Copper with CaB6

JOM, 1987
Copper deoxidizing by elements such as phosphorus and lithium is common in industry, but when copper is deoxidized with phosphorus, leaving a residual phosphorus greater than 0.01%, electrical conductivity is rapidly reduced. Copper deoxidizing by lithium in industry is not common because of the high cost.
