Dual-Axis Solar Tracking Technique Combining MPC, PID, and ANN Control with Dynamic Controller Selection [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Renewable Energy and Environment
Accurate sunlight tracking is essential for maximizing photovoltaic power generation. However, conventional tracking systems based on proportional-integral-derivative (PID) and model predictive control (MPC) face significant challenges.

Dependence and Independence [PDF]

open access: yesStudia Logica, 2013
We introduce an atomic formula intuitively saying that given variables are independent from given other variables if a third set of variables is kept constant. We contrast this with dependence logic. We show that our independence atom gives rise to a natural logic capable of formalizing basic intuitions about independence and dependence.

An Approach to Model Based Testing of Multiagent Systems

open access: yesThe Scientific World Journal, 2015
Autonomous agents perform on behalf of the user to achieve defined goals or objectives. They are situated in dynamic environment and are able to operate autonomously to achieve their goals.

A Comprehensive Dependability Model for QoM-Aware Industrial WSN When Performing Visual Area Coverage in Occluded Scenarios

open access: yesSensors, 2020
In critical industrial monitoring and control applications, dependability evaluation will be usually required. For wireless sensor networks deployed in industrial plants, dependability evaluation can provide valuable information, enabling proper ...

A Dependent Dependency Calculus (Extended Version)

open access: yesCoRR, 2022
Over twenty years ago, Abadi et al. established the Dependency Core Calculus (DCC) as a general purpose framework for analyzing dependency in typed programming languages. Since then, dependency analysis has shown many practical benefits to language design: its results can help users and compilers enforce security constraints, eliminate dead code, among

An Improved Algorithm for Digital Image Authentication and Forgery Localization Using Demosaicing Artifacts

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
This paper focuses on the digital image authentication and forgery localization using demosaicing artifacts. The aim is to build an algorithm allowing a bridge between the color filter array pattern and demosaicing algorithm estimation, and the ...

Dependence, independence or inter-dependence? Revisiting the concepts of ‘care’ and ‘dependency’ [PDF]

open access: yesAgeing and Society, 2005
Research and theory on ‘dependency’ and ‘care-giving’ have to date proceeded along largely separate lines, with little sense that they are exploring and explaining different aspects of the same phenomenon. Research on ‘care’, initially linked to feminism during the early 1980s, has revealed and exposed to public gaze what was hitherto assumed to be a ...

Comparative analysis of support vector machine and logistic regression for gear fault detection and classification

open access: yesApplied and Computational Mechanics
Bevel gears play a crucial role in mechanical systems, particularly in power transmission applications where changes in shaft orientation are required. Early fault detection and diagnosis in gearboxes are essential for ensuring operational efficiency and

Cobalamin-dependent and cobamide-dependent methyltransferases [PDF]

open access: yesCurrent Opinion in Structural Biology, 2008
Methyltransferases that employ cobalamin cofactors, or their analogs the cobamides, as intermediates in catalysis of methyl transfer play vital roles in energy generation in anaerobic unicellular organisms. In a broader range of organisms they are involved in the conversion of homocysteine to methionine.
