Framing-Based Choice: A Model of Decision-Making Under Risk [PDF]
In this study we propose an axiomatic theory of decision-making under risk that is based on a new approach to the modeling of framing that focuses on the subjective statistical dependence between prizes of compared lotteries.

In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Bregman superquantiles. Estimation methods and applications
In thiswork,we extend some parameters built on a probability distribution introduced before to the casewhere the proximity between real numbers is measured by using a Bregman divergence.

Structural and biochemical characterisations show that the planar cell polarity (PCP) protein Inturned harbours a unique PDZ‐like domain that does not bind canonical PDZ‐binding motifs (PBMs) like that of another PCP protein Vangl2. In contrast, the apical‐basal polarity protein Scribble contains four PDZ domains that bind Vangl2, but one PDZ domain ...

Multivariate dependence modeling using copulas [PDF]
There exist necessary and sufficient conditions on the generating functions of the FGM family, in order to obtain various dependence properties. We present multivariate generalizations of this class studying symmetry and dependence concepts, measuring ...

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Characterizations of bivariate conic, extreme value, and Archimax copulas
Based on a general construction method by means of bivariate ultramodular copulas we construct, for particular settings, special bivariate conic, extreme value, and Archimax copulas. We also show that the sets of copulas obtained in this way are dense in

Presented at the Philosopher's Web Cafe, December 11, 2020:In many areas of science and philosophy, observers are seen as an integral part of understanding the natural world. Aside from a pedagogical role, observers are seen as less important in computational forms of inquiry.

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

The family of Clayton copulas is one of the most widely used Archimedean copulas for dependency measurement. A major drawback of this copula is that when it accounts for negative dependence, the copula is nonstrict and its support is dependent on the ...
