Dependency Parsing of Turkish [PDF]
The suitability of different parsing methods for different languages is an important topic in syntactic parsing. Especially lesser-studied languages, typologically different from the languages for which methods have originally been developed, pose interesting challenges in this respect.

Dependency Parsing Schemata and Mildly Non-Projective Dependency Parsing [PDF]
We introduce dependency parsing schemata, a formal framework based on Sikkel's parsing schemata for constituency parsers, which can be used to describe, analyze, and compare dependency parsing algorithms. We use this framework to describe several well-known projective and non-projective dependency parsers, build correctness proofs, and establish ...

Dependency parsing of biomedical text with BERT [PDF]
Background: Syntactic analysis, or parsing, is a key task in natural language processing and a required component for many text mining approaches. In recent years, Universal Dependencies (UD) has emerged as the leading formalism for dependency parsing ...

Multi-task learning by using contextualized word representations for syntactic parsing of a morphologically rich language. [PDF]
We address the challenge of syntactic parsing for Urdu, a morphologically rich language, and present state-of-the-art results for both constituency and dependency parsing.

Parsing to Noncrossing Dependency Graphs [PDF]
We study the generalization of maximum spanning tree dependency parsing to maximum acyclic subgraphs. Because the underlying optimization problem is intractable even under an arc-factored model, we consider the restriction to noncrossing dependency graphs. Our main contribution is a cubic-time exact inference algorithm for this class.

Dependency Parsing with Transformed Feature [PDF]
Dependency parsing is an important subtask of natural language processing. In this paper, we propose an embedding feature transforming method for graph-based parsing, transform-based parsing, which directly utilizes the inner similarity of the features ...

Telugu dependency parsing using different statistical parsers
In this paper we explore different statistical dependency parsers for parsing Telugu. We consider five popular dependency parsers namely, MaltParser, MSTParser, TurboParser, ZPar and Easy-First Parser.

Fine-Tuning BERT-Based Pre-Trained Models for Arabic Dependency Parsing
With the advent of pre-trained language models, many natural language processing tasks in various languages have achieved great success. Although some research has been conducted on fine-tuning BERT-based models for syntactic parsing, and several Arabic ...

Going to the Roots of Dependency Parsing
Dependency trees used in syntactic parsing often include a root node representing a dummy word prefixed or suffixed to the sentence, a device that is generally considered a mere technical convenience and is tacitly assumed to have no impact on empirical results.

Improving Low-resource Dependency Parsing Using Multi-strategy Data Augmentation [PDF]
Dependency parsing aims to identify syntactic dependencies between words in a sentence.Dependency parsing can provide syntactic features and improve model performance for tasks such as information extraction, automatic question answering and machine ...
