Positive ion-depleted region in ionic glasses

Solid State Ionics, 1992
Abstract ac measurements were made on lithium disilicate glass, with various bias voltages at constant temperature. Observed data were compared with those for (AgI) 75 (Ag 4 P 2 O 7 ) 25 glass, one of superionic conductors. Emphasis was given on the dependence of the complex admittance on bias amplitude, from which the nature of positive ion ...

Depletion region in thermally poled fused silica

Applied Physics Letters, 2000
The depletion-layer width and the recorded electric field in thermally poled fused silica are investigated experimentally as a function of the applied voltage. The depletion-layer width is observed to vary linearly with the poling voltage. The average electric field recorded in the depletion region was found to be (5.3±0.3)×108 V/m for all samples ...

Depletion region formation at low temperatures

1991 International Symposium on VLSI Technology, Systems, and Applications - Proceedings of Technical Papers, 2002
The response of the semiconductor device at low temperatures is limited by the time taken for the formation of the depletion region. Hence the capacitance-voltage characteristics of the semiconductor device containing a junction displays dispersion. This paper reports a study of the dispersion caused in the accumulation and depletion regions of the C-V

D region depletions above the Persian Gulf

Journal of Atmospheric and Terrestrial Physics, 1993
Abstract The extraordinary delay of the daily variation of absorption and electron density observed in the ionospheric D region above the Persian Gulf in 1976 observed from the research vessel ‘Akademik Kurchatov’ may be a consequence of air pollution by oil production by-products.

Femtosecond carfier transport in nonuniform depletion regions

Optical Society of America Annual Meeting, 1990
We use excitonic effects in thin GaAs quantum-well stripline samples to generate, propagate, and detect femtosecond electrical signals.1 The time dependence of the initial photocurrent transient depends sensitively on the bias and excitation conditions.

A precise scaling length for depleted regions

Solid-State Electronics, 1985
Abstract A new scaling length is described that is useful in precise modeling of depletion layers. This scaling method also permits accurate empirical modeling of inversion layers associated with depleted regions.

Radiation Damage Coefficients for Silicon Depletion Regions

IEEE Transactions on Nuclear Science, 1979
An experimental and analytical study of radiation effects on silicon depletion regions has been performed. Data are presented which yield damage coefficients appropriate for describing the effects of fission neutrons and Co60 gamma rays on depleted regions and on the SiO2-Si interface.

Displacement damage extremes in silicon depletion regions

IEEE Transactions on Nuclear Science, 1989
Measurements of proton-induced dark current increases in a Si CID (charge injection device) imager have been made following displacement damage by 12- and 63-MeV protons. Populations of 61504 pixels optimize statistics and make possible the first detailed study of rare events.

Measuring regional economic impacts of streamflow depletions

Water Resources Research, 1997
Because of large upstream diversions for agriculture and an absence of policies to protect in‐stream flows, flows in the Rio Grande near Taos, New Mexico, routinely are low by midsummer. The reach is a popular Whitewater run in the southwestern United States when flows are adequate for river running. This article estimates the regional economic impacts
