The Geologic Features of the Occurrence of Copper in North America [PDF]

open access: yes, 1933
Copper is of such widespread natural occurrence in North America and there are so few metal-mining districts that have not contributed to its production that it is obviously necessary in any brief general treatment of the geology of the copper deposits ...

The planar cell polarity protein Vangl2 interacts with the PDZ‐domains of Scribble but not with a unique PDZ‐like domain in Inturned

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Structural and biochemical characterisations show that the planar cell polarity (PCP) protein Inturned harbours a unique PDZ‐like domain that does not bind canonical PDZ‐binding motifs (PBMs) like that of another PCP protein Vangl2. In contrast, the apical‐basal polarity protein Scribble contains four PDZ domains that bind Vangl2, but one PDZ domain ...

INVESTMENT ATTRACTION THE DEVELOPMENT OF PEAT DEPOSITS ON THE EXAMPLE OF LENINGRAD REGION

open access: yesВестник Северо-Кавказского федерального университета, 2022
In the artikle presetet large number of unclaimed deposits ofpeat dictate the necessity to intensify their input in industrial development. Moreover, the scope of use ofpeat is very diverse and importantfor the regional economy in such branches as: small

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Considerations on the management of banks with numerous branches in the common market countries. Variations on the theme of productivity

open access: yesPSL Quarterly Review, 2014
The work is concerned with developing a general concept of productivity in banking. The study finds its origin in the simple observation that if the number of staff in large banks of different countries is divided by total balances or deposits, the ...

Radiation-induced nickel deposits [PDF]

open access: yes, 1972
Low cost, photographic process uses surface coating of nickel hypophosphite sensitive to X-rays and electron radiation. Exposed coated surface can be amplified to produce permanent visible image of wide tonal gradation in grays.

Evaporative deposition patterns: Spatial dimensions of the deposit [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review E, 2005
A model accounting for the finite spatial dimensions of the deposit patterns in evaporating sessile drops of a colloidal solution on a plane substrate is proposed. The model is based on the assumption that the solute particles occupy finite volume and hence these dimensions are of steric origin. Within this model, the geometrical characteristics of the

A methionine‐lined active site governs carbocation stabilization and product specificity in a bacterial terpene synthase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals a unique active site enriched in methionine residues and demonstrates that these residues play a critical role by stabilizing carbocation intermediates through novel sulfur–cation interactions. Structure‐guided mutagenesis further revealed variants with significantly altered product profiles, enhancing pseudopterosin formation. These

Hydrogeochemical processes and groundwater chemistry in the West Siberia

open access: yesGeology, Ecology, and Landscapes
The present study aimed to identify the formation factors of the current hydrogeochemical character of the Middle-Jurassic aquifer groundwaters (beds YU 2–4) in the Lyaminsky petroleum district of West Siberia in Russia.
