Mitigating the Heat: The Role of AI Technology in Shielding Corporate Environmental Performance From Extreme Temperatures—Difference‐in‐Differences Evidence From Chinese Listed Firms

open access: yesBusiness Strategy and the Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Extreme heat has become a recurring operational challenge that disrupts production, raises energy and maintenance needs, and makes it harder for firms to sustain environmental performance. However, it remains less clear whether AI‐related capability is associated with firms' ability to maintain environmental performance under recurring extreme‐

Unveiling the Potential of Metal and Non‐Metal Modified Porous Carbon for the Electrochemical Reduction of CO2

open access: yesCarbon Energy, EarlyView.
Earth‐abundant metal‐ and non‐metal‐modified porous carbons offer a highly tunable platform for electrochemical CO2 reduction. This review shows how electronic interactions, active‐site coordination, pore architecture, and cooperative catalytic effects jointly govern intermediate stabilization, product selectivity, and device‐relevant CO2RR performance.

Perspectives in biomedicine: Superfoods and antioxidant power classification

open access: yesThe Canadian Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
Abstract The market value of natural food antioxidants will double to 8 billion USD by 2033, driven by a global consumer demand for ‘clean label’ products and proactive wellness solutions. However, the industrial application and health labelling (commercial brands) of these compounds remain severely constrained by inconsistent analytical methods.

Biography as the Missing Variable in Drug Development: A Case for Bio‐Biographical Mechanistic Profiling

open access: yesClinical Pharmacology &Therapeutics, EarlyView.
Most clinical trial failures reflect unmeasured biological heterogeneity. Biography — chronic stress, adversity, trauma, and social isolation—is a neglected source of that heterogeneity, operating through the same molecular pathways drugs engage.

How to Optimize Healthy Volunteer Screening and Enrolment in Clinical Trials: A Qualitative and Quantitative Approach to Evaluate Processes and Healthy Volunteers' Perceptions

open access: yesClinical Pharmacology &Therapeutics, EarlyView.
Healthy volunteers (HVs) are essential for phase I trials, yet their recruitment and screening remain resource‐intensive and ethically complex. High screening failure (SF) rates highlight the need to evaluate and understand all aspects of the enrolment processes. We analyzed SF patterns in a large German HV cohort and explored participants' motivations,

From Prediction to Decision Making: PBPK and QSP as Regulatory‐Grade NAMs

open access: yesClinical Pharmacology &Therapeutics, EarlyView.
New approach methodologies (NAMs) encompass a diverse and rapidly evolving set of experimental and computational tools designed to generate human‐relevant mechanistic data for use in drug development and regulatory decision making. Experimental NAMs provide insights into drug disposition, pharmacological activity, and disease biology that are difficult
